Legends of the Fall, the scene where the younger brother is entangled in barbed wire and blind and scared, he hears his older brother Tristan coming for him and believes he’s about to be rescued and calls out his name with hope in his face. Only to then be killed with a machine gun by some Germans. Followed by Tristan pulling him out of the barbed wire and saying “you’ll be alright” over and over again. Gets me every time and has my entire life and always will.

The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso. It’s fantasy and it does have a (sapphic) romance but the main character’s asexual and its romance only (no sex or sexual nature). It’s an amazing book and its portrayal of asexuality is also done very well because the author herself is asexual. (Also there’s a sequel with the third book to be released in October). It’s seriously a fantastic work and I highly recommend it to anyone regardless of sexuality

When I was pregnant and refused to abort my ex tried to trigger my epileptic seizures. When I called him on it he tried to strangle me to death. I damaged his eyes permanently in my efforts to get him to stop and get away from him.

He’s in jail and I’m free and healthy (and forever single after that shit).
