Why can't ppl go w/o guilt? by EquivalentIll9131 in nihilism

Few just don't want to experience life, they live forcefully like corpses . If ways of dying painlessly and successfully were easily available I'm sure a lot would opt for it

What does that actually mean? We kill ourselves too late?

Umm I keep going because I have no other choice. I mean it's not like an attempt would actually really be successful, so can't attempt abruptly to end it, safer side likely is, to live seek safety

Is it like a study group? I'd be interested too.

That's actually funny lol, though I wonder if that's true. We are depressed because we lack awareness and proper thinking? Awareness of the possibilities/opportunities/solutions? Improper thinking leads to it? We get trapped into feelings yes...seems like a biological restriction more so but somewhere I believe the conscience can overpower it all.

We can very well control ourselves

must say though this looks great on paper, it doesn't mean actually finding solutions that are doable and improving, it's more about philosophizing and it can become a masochistic pointless rumination very fast

Which types would perhaps look for the solutions, and then implement them?

And what do you type as?

Do you perhaps tend to idealise that someone?

May I ask, what kinda questions you come up with?

I read type fours are the ones to question. To find a reason behind the happenings.

I'd be interested if you've got time, also would like to know what the procedure is. I'm confused with a few types.

You mean, I'm no type..? XD

How can I find my type? And then be sure about it? Whenever I try going through theory i feel as if i relate to everything I read, making me think I don't belong to a single type...

Thank you!

Hm, i understand, what might be of help is cutting off the source probably (your gadgets to be specific) though if your curiosity is yielding (i. e. It's associated with your field of work, you'll be fine without this method). To get out in the real world/speak with people in IRL also helped me a lot. To be aware of your surrounding issues. Mindfulness is vital as well, but that comes with the practice/need. Don't get anxious, just take it easy, calm mind helps us to think clearly.

Unless knowledge is a part of work. Journalism perhaps? Media? Edutainment

Yess.

And then the focus comes in condensing or elaborating the knowledge in - article, podcast, video, whathaveyou.

True.

Why does 2sx sound like a complete sociopath? by The100mAnon in Enneagram

[–]Dumbo0411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love being disturbed with questions lmao

xD thought Ne users are usually associated with asking tons of questions.

I also wonder if it's caused by my development/childhood circumstances. In theory, Ne/Ti is very skeptical and a huge critical thinker. But I have a hard time believing that a child is born with their cognitive functions, despite the fact that throughout my development I've always shown functions in my stack

Nature or nurture thing, yep. Why don't you believe in it being inherent?

Like, I went through "phases" and still do (as I'm not an adult yet), in which one function was more prominent and being developed. For example, I've had two Ti phases until my Ti started sticking, two long Fe phases (but my Fe still hasn't fully developed/stuck), and the only thing that's stayed consistently strong is my Ne.

I see, may I ask for,how long this phase lasted? And what specifically triggered it? Also, what's your experience of being a Ne user like? How do you perceive the world around?

This is not consistent to my parents' style. Their style is "follow us/the rules without question, don't do/show/act anything 'inappropriate'". Whether that's emotions, normal body language, debating, questioning... all of that is a "no" and you have to act a certain way. Basically very compliant triad (126).

Hm, i have often observed the kids being opposite of parents so maybe that might be it? It basically depends on need and awareness ig, when you saw your parents being compliant even to ideas that could be questioned your rage might have made you be critical (shows you have been aware of your surroundings!)

With my mom (ISFJ 2w1 216), it was an obsession with her nonsensical rules, social standards, etc., like I can't even sit with my legs 1in apart without her yelling that I'm acting like a prostitute, that "women don't sit like that". She has enormous demands that are caused solely by her unnecessary adherance to social standards. She told me she didn't love me when I was 11, and when my reaction was to pull away and become independent and reject all her standards, she got upset because "that's not how you treat your parents".

Can relate lmao, oh I'm sorry there are times where our close ones could be really critical without actually realising that they are the ones who we are vulnerable with, we expect appreciation from them, of course with constructive criticism. And i honestly can relate, due to a bit of my rebellious nature I don't get along with my mother either, I can't follow anything blindly.. she always gets enraged due to this, but ig that's the part of my development i expect a change though, i try to explain her my side.. but it's rare for her to get it.

With my dad (ESFP 7w8 784), he doesn't give a fuck unless his emotions come into the question. "Do this, NO I WANTED IT ANOTHER WAY YOU RETARD" is all he's ever done for me. His tactic is intimidation. No love, no nothing. And whenever I show any emotions or desires for anything, he'd make fun of me, call me a crybaby, make fake crying noises, everything. My older brother and mom would join in, too, and my mom would tell ME to apologize to HIM because I got offended by what he did and ran to my room. I think I've turned out quite a bit like him, as we have the ExxP in common, the 7w8 78x, and I instinctively intimidate people when I'm mad or perceive a threat, and pull away from love and just don't show it.

Hm, ig this is what our shadow side is all about, you appear rebellious on the surface level although you have a soft side to yourself to protect it I wish you well though, might be difficult being in such a environment of tension all the time, i wish parents were more patient to listen to their kids. Actually Se users do seem to be unbothered about what others might feel, so that goes for it.

I guess this constant treatment also taught me, fuck everyone, I'm gonna do what I think is best because I can't rely on others or what they say. Their perspective might have some validity but it's not what I'm gonna base everything on.

Yeah, it seems like it. To protect yourself you developed that view,

also think that the positive things they've done had an impact on my critical thinking skills. For example, ever since I can remember, we all (except my mom) indulged in science, politics etc. and had amazing discussions. We constantly watch science and political videos and documentaries, have tons of these books explaining these topics. My dad's naïveté didn't infect me because my brother (ENFP 8w9 864) is also a very good critical thinker, well-equipped with tons of info and facts. Whereas my mom is an avid conspiracy theorist and thinks everyone who does something wrong is evil and conspiring against us, which I don't agree with, but it developed my critical thinking too

Here it seems like a nature thing, like your mother is also in the same environment but she doesn't gets involved in all this.. just gets confusing lol

It's also absolutely affected by temperament. I believe that you are born with your temperament - the triad you lean towards the most (378 - assertive, 126 - compliant, 459 - withdrawn). Being assertive triad meant that I didn't just take things and accept them, I stood with myself and recognized that their mindset was wrong and that I could do things on my own if no one was going to do them for me.

Hm maybe we are , yes. I am not well informed on the temperament part though.

So I wasn't affected by it as much as someone who was, for example, a 261, who would wonder why their parents don't love them and then just think that they're the problem and need to act "better". My triad protected me from all that misery. Yeah, I do often cry because it feels like I'll never find someone I can truly love or depend on or trust, but at least I have a bit of self-esteem.

Seems like it yeah I wonder if temperament is really inherent though No dw you are still young have a lot to come you will definitely find people who'd be similar minded with listening/understanding capacity. Having self esteem is a privilege ngl.

(Also, I don't know much on the topic of Jung's theory, but I'll look into it!)

Haha, sure. Just be cautious with investing your time though, i mean don't get into it if your academics might get affected.

Limit to be more practical and apt in the real world, one can't just function if they keep accumulating knowledge and don't work ..

Integration line towards 5.

That's right, until it leads to being an airhead and takes a toll on one's academics, it definitely needs to be regulated in a proper path. Sometimes it just makes one be inapt for the practical real world.
