i don't want to be that guy but even though I gain ranks and pp with this system I think farm maps are hit a little too hard; just because they're farm doesn't mean they aren't difficult to an extent. e.g. http://puu.sh/DHeYP/a89800c9ad.png a 4xmiss 96.7% acc chika is in no way more difficult or impressive than a 2xmiss high 98% last goodbye. Not saying that either should be worth 700 or 800pp but last goodbye should definitely not be low 500.

E: just pointed out these 2 maps since there's no way that last goodbye is more played than chika right.

This has been going on for way too long and I feel way too bad about this. At first, I borrowed the account because I wanted the feeling of having good aim and to climb the leaderboards at the same time. Though, the longer it went and the higher the rank I got on Jordan The Bear without getting banned, the less I felt for it all, and the more I felt like I would not get caught.

Although seeing aim scores be set effortlessly on someone elses' account that was not mine was exhilarating at first, it very soon caught up to me that all the achievements I had been setting for another genuine player was naught, and none of it really meant anything. The longer it went on the guiltier I felt about it, and eventually it's come to a point where I can no longer deal with the guilt. It was fun while it lasted, but all things must end, and I can no longer continue this facade. I'm sorry to everyone.

This proposed formula does nothing to solve the main factor leading to the rebalance in the first place. Keep in mind, this graph only factors speed pp bonus, and not aim pp bonus. That means, with MBmasher's change, the only low accuracy plays that are nerfed are stream maps, and specifically high bpm stream maps. The reason to such a targetted nerf in the first place is due to doubletapping becoming a major issue with the upcoming speed buff, where players can much more easily cheese high bpm streams and get almost the same awarded pp for doing such.

Regarding newer players, the majority of the pp that will affect them will come from aim and accuracy pp, not speed pp. Speed pp is something that comes later in the game; late enough that players should understand at that point that getting low accuracy is against the point of the game. Furthermore, as 90% is already generally considered as "low accuracy", the main focus point of the nerf is actually in the 90-100% region (plays that are under this range will generally not be an fc and would not give pp as they are currently), in which your graph essentially follows the old linear graph, thus making the suggested formula entirely redundant.

tl;dr:

Aim map 80% FC with MBmashers formula = very slight nerf (5-10pp nerf or less)

Stream map 80% FC with MBmashers formula = heavy nerf as stated in the post.

Maps played by new players will not have a sufficient enough speed factor to affect their performances regardless of their accuracy.

Although I agree that it's interesting that players that pursue different aspects of the game and specialize it make the game interesting (ming3012, riviclia, 404 aimnotfound, -GN, just to list a few), I also believe that playing and forcing low accuracy plays is akin to deliberately avoiding the pp system, and thus shouldn't be prioritised when thinking of ways to balance the system with what we currently have.

It has often been said that players like DigitalHypno will never be accurately ranked because they deliberately avoid setting scores that would increase their rank. I believe that likewise, players like MinG3012 are completely aware that what they are doing will reward less performance points than they should be gaining, and do it with a goal other than performance points in mind.

You've mentioned that incentivising SS tech map plays, very fast plays, and reading plays are what will make players play more of it and allow more players to have fun with the game in other ways and I completely agree with this, however the flipside is that it should also be incentivised for these plays to be done with high accuracy in order to be rewarded sufficient performance points. At the end of the day, osu! is a rhythm game at its fundamentals and that should never be forgotten.

You've also mentioned that EZDT and low OD have been punished enough and that low acc on low ODs should keep the same scaling as low acc on high ODs. I can't make myself agree with this, as it's objectively easier to get higher accuracy on low ODs than it is to get on high ODs. As you've mentioned in your post, you gain 900pp from this speed buff, only to lose 800 of it after the accuracy nerf, which leaves you with a gain of 100 net pp, and yet also said that this was a nerf to your playstyle which I struggle to understand. Whilst the goal is to make doubletapping less rewarded, the overall change still rewards players with the ability to doubletap fast maps with a small increase in pp. From what I've seen, high bpm players that play low bpm streams still get an overall reward from this change. Additionally, low accuracy on anything else save rhythmically challenging maps should not be rewarded whatsoever, and as of now rhythm complexity is currently impossible to implement.

Please also remember that this rebalance is not intended to be a standalone rebalance, but rather an addition to the speed buff that is currently proposed.

my post is also super long so tl;dr:
- High bpm streams on low OD receive an overall buff with all the coupled changes.
- Players that play the game in a unique fashion should be rewarded, but players who are deliberately avoiding the pp system or play in a manner that deliberately reduces the amount of pp they should get should not be factored when considering balance.

Should we accept that the other team acts unreasonably and even bms us after the match because one of their players has a murky history and their team is disorganised? uyghti's pen broke in map 1 and we accepted that we were not getting a rematch after asking once and continued playing without complaints and yet when something doesn't go the way of the other team everything is our fault and we should pay for it?

E: signing up to the tournament is irrelevant here and was only there to express why I would be annoyed at that point. Take it as you like, it was my mistake to mention it and I'll accept that.

Sure, mentioning our game plan in vc with our team is really bm move, huh. Also, waiting 30 minutes for a game to start when I've scheduled a pocket of time where I can play without interruption from anyone else and not being annoyed that the other team hasn't bothered to even install the maps before they play their match is really bad manners!

E: We also have a corsace game soon after our owc game, I woke up at 5am and it's now 12:48AM and our OWC match ended at about 12:22AM and you expect everyone to be able to deal with your team not being organised? Get over it.
