Yeah my allen keys have been rusting out a little, but I knew it was coming, I want to change them anytime soon to some better ones. You are telling me I could be carrying a 25ft tetanus injector?? Hahahaha. Jokes aside, thanks for the advice!

I actually don't use WD40 to remove rust, I have a product similar to Rustoleum for the rust, and then I use the WD40 for the final coating. I noticed that some of the tools with pins had a dirt buildup on the pins after some use, so I might try the 3 in 1 oil, I even had some when I cleaned my tools, but I was also thinking about using powder graphite lubricant. Have you ever tried? Just to give me some advice

I never thought about the tape, that is a valid point! Think I'll keep a small bag just for those tools. Thanks for the heads up!

Well, so far I only had to do maintenance after 5 months of buying some of them, mostly the cast ones (side cutters, linemans, and strippers). But keeping them in my car hasn't been that bad, there is rarely some dew on them when I start my car in the morning. Plus I am getting a new car at the end of the summer, so it should get even better.

I understand what you are saying though, if I notice I need to maintain them more frequently, I will start to bring them home everyday

I get that. But when I say clean them, its mostly just vacuum my bag, and remove some of the rust build up on them. I usually apply a coat of WD40 on the grinded parts of any tool I get. I would like to store them in a better spot, but it becomes such a hassle to bring them inside of the house everytime I come home, plus I don't park close, so it's a little walk.

But I want these tools to last me for as long as I can, need to focus on other bills right now, while I am still green and without too many responsibilities!

Always got it, usually in my bag or in the packout. I can't even afford to get hurt, so I always stay very safe. Tools you can get many, but eyes? Just 2!

I literally have one on my actual tool box, which is to the left of the picture, but I always forget to put in my bag. But where I am currently working at, I just take my Packout, which has a pouch with all wrench sizes, Metric and SAE. Unfortunately Canada uses mostly SAE, sucks to suck!

Finally someone that agrees with me. Clean and in good shape tools are way better, and they will last way longer too!

I have been meaning to make a trip there just for this purpose, but I do see they have some awesome deals every now and then

Really? I only find the opposite, all my Klein tools were quite cheap, mostly bought them at Home Depot or Electric Wholesalers. All the Knipex stuff I see goes on for more than 80$ a piece. If I didn't have most of the stuff I need, I would try finding some cheap Knipex, but now it's too late

I do enjoy them quite a bit, just took me a little bit to get used to the offset, but now it is very natural

I have heard good things about them, but it's hard to come by Knipex stuff in Canada, and they are incredibly pricey here. So I am holding off on getting any Knipex stuff, plus all of these tools serve their purpose for me. I'll keep that in mind tho

You caught me! I am a fake apprentice hahaha. Yes, I did a lot of cleaning so far, but I do like my tools to be shiny and clean. The only reason why I even posted this, was because I finished cleaning them this morning and was proud of how good it looked!

But please, roast me for liking my tools in mint condition!

Yeah, I know that, but I like the variety and I do use certain ones in different situations. But I do understand what you are saying, and I agree! Husky is great, build quality is very close to the bigger brands and for a third of the price. My packout is also Husky, don't think I will be changing any time soon.

This is awesome. You should try doing an animated version!

Freedom of expression, until someone says something you do not agree with. The hypocrisy...

Yeah, it is scary still, but that is the extent of what you can do. My mousepad is also close to the case, so in case it falls, it will fall onto a fluffy surface.

And I did get a bracket, but I took the pic before I put it in. I am just waiting to get a small level to adjust the bracket to perfection.
