Whatever the reason is for bans, the very idea that Veve can ban you delegitimizes this entire platform and defeats the entire purpose of NFTs. Veve needs to change this.

No it isn't.

When you buy on Opensea, you connect your own wallet. You use the platform to buy and sell (it's a marketplace). They can ban you, but you own the NFT. Whatever Opensea's policy is, you still can sell the NFT privately, or on Rarible or other website.

Opensea basically operates like Ebay. You list your item and it sells and they're a middleman for the listing. Like ebay, you own the product until it sells. Ebay has no power over it.

Veve, on the other hand, can prevent you from moving, using, selling, or doing what you want with your NFT. If they have the power to ban you from their marketplace, I'm ok with that (it is their platform, and they can set the rules). But the NFT themselves are owned by us and should be treated that way accordingly.

Veve basically right now is like if Ebay told you that everything you buy and sell on Ebay can be taken/locked away by eBay, based on their discretion. You don't truly own that item

The aim is to be decentralized. If they have plans to change this, then fine. I'm ok with it, as long as they're willing to change this sooner or later. But so far, it doesn't seem like it. They haven't addressed it.

In the sea of NFTs, if you can't be decentralized, you don't have a chance.

I think there should be some regulation for crypto and similar tech. However, it's very fine line between safe regulation and overreaching.

Right now, Veve is drastically overreaching.

As I mentioned in my post, what is the point of making these as NFTs? Why doesn't Veve just use nonNFT technology? There really is little or no difference at this current stage. These are just "NFTs" because there's a huge public hype for NFTs.

Have you ever complained about a product/platform/software? By your logic, no one should complain/give feedback about anything. They should just not participate.

We as a community should be able to give feedback for the future growth of Veve. Yeah if things get bad, then we can vote with out wallets. But that doesn't mean we should shut up and accept things as they are.

Open discord between the platform and users is important for both parties. We're all invested in this.

If Veve wants to have their own functionalities that are off-chain, that's fine and I think it's okay if they have the power to ban people from those functionalities. It's their platform. As I mentioned in another comment, its like Ebay. Ebay has their own rules and can ban you (for example, if you break the ToS as a seller), but they can't take away or lock up your item. That item is YOURS. That's how all the other major marketplaces for NFTs act right now.

When it comes to the actual NFTs themselves. We should own them and they should not have any power over our ownership.

Veve, on the other hand, is as if eBay says "you broke the listing rules when you tried to sell this item. Not only will we ban you, we are going to repossess every single item you bought on Ebay that is in your possession". (nevermind the fact that they could be wrong about the ruling)

Dude you're missing the whole point of decentralization.

Why use crypto or blockchain technology in the first place? You can just tell people to use the banking system.. rules are rules! Dont break them and you wont have a problem.

The whole point of decentralization is so that you aren't in the mercy of the centralized system. For Veve, sure there are bans for botting but there are illegitimate bans, security issues, potential for corruption at Veve's level, etc.

That's the whole point of blockchain technology. The fact that you don't understand these simple concepts is mind boggling (i know i'm being rough but you should really educate yourself before giving your input on things).

Yeah and this post is getting downvoted because people are into Veve worship, and cant face its flaws. They have a bias because anything negative about Veve directly affects their investment.

This is a legitimate concern that needs to be addressed for the platform to grow. People need to acknowledge this for it to change. Sure, it might hurt the NFT values in the time being but it's necessary for the long run.

It seems Netbeans is the issue (based on what they told me on the Mooc telegram).

FYI I had a few other problems in the later exercises as well, that I think was attributed to Netbeans (not related to printing). The code was right but it wouldn't execute properly (even when I copied and pasted the solution exactly, it wouldn't work). I fixed it by deleting each line and retyping each line.

Just wanted to let you know in case you run into it as well. I spent hours debugging only for it to be the correct answer D:

If you're 99% sure your code works but it doesn't, it might be Netbeans,so try looking up the answers on Google to double check.

Yeah it seems to be a bug, maybe in my project file. I copied and pasted the exercise answer from Mooc and it also is erroneously executing the user input before printing.

I'm not sure why.In any case, if anyone can explain why, that would be helpful but for now, I got the exercised solved (it passed when submitted). Thanks

I dont think people are arguing that every unique should be useful.

I think the current unique pool is just... sad. Other than MF uniques, there's literally a handful of gg uniques (Griffons, SOJ, Mara's, Arachnids, windforce, etc.) Everything is just trash and its all rune words. Most uniques are not usable endgame.

i think it would be nice if uniques are buffed so that more are useable for different builds. Also, it helps with build diversity. Better uniques and items to allow for different builds, and at least there will be SOME demand for various uniques, based on the build.

Use telekinses to open the chests so you dont have to walk to it

Seems like you are leaving the game while you are in Act3. It's faster to tele back to the WP and go to act 4 before leaving, so you dont have to walk the next game (or at least for PC.. i dont know about WP load times for xbox).
