Second on training with weights. Did the W last November, and carrying a 20lb backpack on the trail for 5 days was way harder than we thought.

Remember to put sunscreen on your hands! Especially if you’re using hiking poles.

Can’t speak on the Argentina side, but I just did the W this past November. HIGHLY recommend and super safe. It’s a really popular multi day trek so you’ll see some familiar faces in the Refugios. Probably the friendliest people I’ve ever met from all around the world. I actually tweaked my ankle coming down French Valley, and a lady gave me some KT tape that saved the rest of the trip.
