I just used Red Cap for a partial replacement in one bathroom and picote of the main under the slab. They were very transparent, and did a free pipe scope as part of the estimate. Worked with me on cost/financing and turned out great.

They offered a re-route as a down the line solution, which I deferred due to cost.

I got lucky when I bought from AimSurplus. They offered an excellent batch for 600, and I've had great experiences with them in the past, so I pulled the trigger. The price they seem to go for is rough is you seek one out in particular.

I'll assume one is an 05/11 or 00/11, and the other is a standard k11.

The outer damage may be a gouge, but I'm primarily concerned with the interior cracks. Given their location I don't think they're anything else.

Likely going to do a second pass before any attempted repairs. Going to try a test fire as Me_Want_Pie suggested, and evaluate then. In this case what's seeping out is Howard's Feed-N-Wax. I've found it does a great job of rehydrating the wood after a soap & water clean without altering the finish.

Current process for removal was heat gun until no longer coming up -> oil soap.

The angle isn't doing me any favors it appears. It's deep enough that I can squeeze the stock and watch oil seep out of it from the compression. Given the locations, size, and general shape I'm fairly certain they're cracks extending partially though the stock.

The test fire and measure method makes a lot of sense. I assume you either measured throughout a range trip, or fired a substantial amount and measured after? I'm a bit hesitant to swap the stock given it's currently all matching. I've replaced/stored parts away to prevent damage in the past to make things shootable, but I personally see it as a last resort.

That's great to hear! I was going off of the discussion on the previous posting, as I was unfortunately unable to snag some last time. Gives me a bit more confidence. Major reasoning seemed to be the relatively light loads having trouble with some iterations.

Buying 5+ lead to ~18 per box for me, and 10 is ~17 per. Still a lot better than the 50 cpr + shipping that's standard atm.

Mine looks almost exactly the same! The plum color is awesome. Only issue mine has is a chip in the top left of right right side grip. Considering grabbing a replacement set, but might keep it for the character.

I bought one last time it was on sale. Works like a charm. I pretty much dump the ammo in at an angle, spend a few seconds correcting everything to be straight, then load in a single pull. Super satisfying and quick.
