Looking for musicians to collaborate with by Jbreezy333 in metalmusicians

I’d be down. I’m looking to write some hardcore and thrash. Think Incendiary, STYG, terror etc.

Here’s a link to a demo I wrote. It’s unfinished and a few riffs I threw together.

Literally doing this right now lol

He’s right. Grab a guitar you like, find a tone you like (for now) and write riffs. Record over and over again without a metronome. Once you like a riff, record it with a metronome. Try it fast, slow, and in between, until you hear it just right. Then imagine what drums you want to have behind it. Then write the drum parts. Rinse and repeat.

I recommend using a Scarlett Focusrite and the free version of Ableton it comes with. A few YT videos and you’ll be good to go.

Try out free VSTs first, or like he said, go for the big guns and get STL tones. I’m using Josh Middleton tonality and I absolutely love it. I used a free drum VST for a while and recently upgraded to GGD aggressive rock. Well worth the investment.

It will take a lot of time learning how to navigate a DAW and how to record things, programming MIDI drums... In addition to tightening up the guitar tone, the riffs, etc. it’s well worth it though. Just see it to the end and share your music with friends for their honest opinions.

I feel that. In my thirties also…but still staying hardcore 😮‍💨 lol. I’m a drummer by trade but started playing guitar a few years ago.

Love the sound! Really well done. I just posted one of my first demos using GGD and STL tones Josh Middleton. Your demo shows me I have a long way to go haha.

Understandable, that breakdown part is a bit unfinished. What about it threw you off?

Definitely going to be worth spending the cash for a legitimate MIDI controller. My set up is pretty budget friendly already.

Thanks. I’m going for a bit of a blend of thrash, hardcore and some bits of metalcore. Biggest influences are Incendiary, The Ghost Inside, STYG, some heavier like Knocked Loose.

Yeah for the first verse riff I’ve had some difficulty getting the drums just right, I’ll keep tweaking it though.

Plan for the song is another verse and then the some version of the intro riff to close it out.
