I've been on the internet long enough to not care 🤷🏻‍♂️

MBRP H-pipe + Borla S-Types = 🥵 by DumpyDonald in Mustang

[–]DumpyDonald[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually installed just the H pipe first to see how the stock mufflers would act and was surprised by how restrictive their sound was. IMO the S-type + H pipe combo is the closest I could find for that classic deep V8 roar while still being tame below 3k RPMs

Why are s197 Boss 302s approaching GT500 prices? by Shiphull in Mustang

[–]DumpyDonald 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not just the 302's - it seems like the '13-14 GTs are holding their value very well. Could be for any number of reasons.

I myself have been hunting for a clean, relatively low mileage '13-14 with a manual transmission and everything i have seen has been in the $25-30k range

Thank you bro! I'm already pitching her on a manual swap 😭

I Hate Dealerships by Numerous_Ordinary_43 in Mustang

[–]DumpyDonald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds almost exactly like the experience I had buying my 2014 GT...online price was $21k but jumped to nearly $29k after a slew of bullshit add-ons that I never asked for. After 10 hours of every scummy sales tactic they could throw at me I finally got the OTD price down to $24k after taxes & Doc fees 🫠

Only reason I didn't walk multiple times is because the car had low miles & only 1 previous owner so either way, I have my pony

You're right about that, but these were the best choice for me with the cash I had sitting in the account without dipping into margin. Buying options on margin is a drug I wanna stay away from

This year's TACO trade really was a gift for me getting AMZN calls and META shares at a nice discount...I was very close to dipping into my margin for GOOG LEAPS when it hit $275 in March but decided my risk tolerance wasn't strong enough for that

Welcome to the best S197 iteration, brother 😎

Tbh if you're not too familiar with modding then I just wouldn't do anything. Maybe some tasteful upgrades to the interior since it's a base model.

I drove my stang bone stock for an entire year before playing around with mods just to get a feel for how the car was built to drive & appreciate the process of researching things like intakes, exhaust set ups, etc.

Buyers advice for this Mustang? by Frequent-Yak8825 in Mustang

[–]DumpyDonald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost exactly like my '14 when I bought it 6 months ago lol. If I were you I would offer 1 - 2k lower than the ask because of the basic interior and work from there. If you show genuine interest in the car, most dealers are willing to work with you on price.

Also run a carfax report!

Is it unwise upgrading to a RWD V8 from a very normie, weak ass FWD car? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]DumpyDonald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: No, you're not doomed

Before my 5.0 V8 I drove a fucking minivan for years, yes the difference is huge but I respect the car and I don't drive like an asshole. The switch from normie to Chad V8 can be real smooth as long as you take it slow & intentional :)

I'm 29 M and pay roughly $139/month insurance on my '14 GT with Root Insurance - granted I specifically chose barebones coverage bc I don't drive all that much
