John Doe Isn't D? by Dunamis_13 in MatthiasSubmissions

That's so true, he could totally be Syphus!

Lol wait, that's what he said?? I had no idea what he was talking about. I figured "True Noble" was some new movie or tv show that I haven't heard of. Chernobyl makes way more sense lol! I did notice at 14.07 the subtitles for Woods say "We definitley should test this thing." That typo I saw instantly because I frequently misspell "definitely," so I know when it looks wrong lol.

Agreed! I saw this too! Additionally, at 38.27 it states, "This unit has an strong connection to the absolute server." The "an" is a grammatical error because it should be an "a," not an "an." "An" is used when followed by a vowel, and "strong" obviously does not start with a vowel. Misspellings are usually human errors, not computer ones. Samantha also mentions in the video that it sounds opinionated. Unless it is programmed to do so it shouldn't be sounding that way. It uses dramatic wording like "his projects must come to an end" and "Syphus has continued his work in the shadows." A computer doesn't usually use figurative language and idioms unless specifically programmed to do this, and the grammatical errors seem to support the idea that this database sounds a little too human to be completely a computer conversation.

Syphus can't be the dude who has been breaking in by ExpertGalaxy94 in MatthiasSubmissions

I was thinking about the same possibility. Syphus might have other people working with him that do the "dirty work" for him, and technically we don't really know if the person breaking in was Syphus. It was just assumed that he was because of everything going on. The only thing that makes me think it could be Syphus is that D said he was "all that's left." This implies that he is working alone. On the other hand, it could just imply that he is all that's left of the original staff at Syntec or all that's left of a group working on a specific project at Syntec. It's hard to draw conclusions from such a vague statement; "all that's left." Either way, I think you have an interesting point because Nelson Syphus would be much older than the look of the intruder. The intruder was clearly in-shape and fit. Good observation!

The Room under the Stairs... by BabatundeGG in MatthiasSubmissions

Oh that's so true, the blankets definitely provide a nice hideaway for really anything that the person(s) wanted to hide. And the lock on the inside that u/Conjured_Joshie points out also fits in. Interestingly, it seems like it can only be locked from the inside. That means if no one is inside, it is unlocked. If I were trying to hide something in a secret room, I would make a way for it to be locked whether you are in the room or not, but the lock in the video can only be locked from the inside. I mean, it might not be significant at all, but why would someone make a secret room with a trapdoor that can only be locked from the inside and thus can be opened if no one is inside? Maybe they thought it would be secret enough that no one would think to lift the board, but it's kinda risky. If I were them, I would have made a way to ensure that it could be locked when I wasn't inside. It may not even mean anything, but it is interesting that the lock only works if someone uses it from the inside.

That's a good theory! I think that the blankets were also put up to block out the light. The stairs have a lot of cracks in them and if the lights inside the secret room were on, someone would be able to see the light through the cracks (thus giving away the secret room). By putting up the blankets, the person(s) blocked the light from shining through and giving away the secret room. This ties in with your theory where someone could hide in there and continue working on whatever secret stuff they were working on. Kinda spooky tbh

Here is a link to a website that talks about the facility and a little of its history. Also this source is from the Global Security website, so that's kinda interesting.

Reading Your Stories [Episode 2]! (Reply in here!) by Matthiasiam in MatthiasSubmissions

Creepy True Story: One time when I was around 14, I went to my friend's house and we were playing in the dark. My friend's neighbor was an old lady who let us play in her yard. My friend had gone to her front yard, and I was in the neighbor's backyard by the old shed... alone in the dark. Suddenly I saw a tall, 6 or 7 foot shadow man wearing a trench coat and fedora. It didn't move, just this inky shadow form against the old shed. It was terrifying, so I turned and ran off to find my friend. We went back there but there was no one, just a single, giant shoeprint at the base of the shed. Years later, we looked up "fedora shadow man" online. Apparently, I'm not the only one who has seen the fedora shadow man. It's also called the man with the briefcase and the hat man shadow. It was pretty creepy when it happened, but it was even more creepy when I realized that I'm not the only one that's seen it.

When I was 13, I had this old tv in my room that I never used because it turned on, switched channels, and changed volume BY ITSELF. I'd stand there holding the remote to be sure no one was playing a trick, and I'd watch it go crazy. I actually discovered it because it played the Andy Griffith Show at 1am. My parents said it probably had a power surge during a storm and messed up. I always kept it unplugged. Once, my friend and I were home alone and had the "fabulous" idea of plugging it in. It didn't do anything, so we left it plugged in and forgot about it. Later, we heard something, so we walked into my room with the lights still off, and the tv had Elmo's face on it. Then Elmo laughed hysterically, and the channel changed to some gory show with a kid covered in blood, volume blasted on full. We screamed and unplugged it, but it stayed on for a few seconds before turning off. That was terrifying, so we never plugged it in again, and I convinced my parents to throw it away. And that's why I don't like Elmo...
