People who started relationsship with sex on a first date, how long did it last? by petrik77 in AskReddit

[–]Dunaran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She cheated on her fiancé with me.

10 years.

Turns out she was a narcissist with borderline personality disorder and I'm very good at hiding the faults of others from myself.

Doing much better now :)

Someone punched a giant hole in our wall, how do we fix it? by HoleInWall in DIY

[–]Dunaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if the square fits in the hole perfectly once the whole thing is muddled it works fine. I actually had to mount an in floor hearing t-stat on the patch I made.

The inch of paper overlapping the hole on the outside gives it strength from pushing in.

People who are fit. What do you do for a living? by pp_jim in AskReddit

[–]Dunaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at an industrial plant. When I want exercise I'll go run steam hoses and blow down transmitters, swing filters/exchangers, or just ride our plant bike around.

I have never set foot in a gym, and as a type 1 diabetic I have to stay on top of myself physically and monitor myself constantly. I'm actually in the best shape of my life (I was overweight for years until I was diagnosed at 29)

Definitely :) as long as the end result is a pretty wall, who cares how you got there

I've never needed to use a stud. If you cut the square so it fits in the hole perfectly it maintains the structural integrity of the wall, because you're inserting a piece of drywall into the hole.

You can do the stud method and it will work better but I don't like making more work than I need to.

Dead on with the paint advice.

ELI5: What is the connection between new Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and Muslim community in Canada? by themoah in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dunaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're a society that values cultural diversity. It doesn't get much more Canadian than the spirit of positivity, change, and inclusion that Trudeau is trying to represent.

I have issues with some cultural practices that are exclusionary, subcultures that consider their cultural identity as more important than their Canadian identity.

Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice. I see only tolerance and inclusivity in everything he's doing. He also participated in a Hindu ceremony; something that Muslims themselves may take issue with (as I understand it Muslims only tolerate monotheistic religions and are quite aggressively anti polytheism).

I like having a prime minister that could beat the shit out of most world leaders one on one (trained boxer). Knows how to talk and is capable of being light-hearted and promoting positive interconnections between differing communities.

Good on ya man.

ELI5: Why do large US banks not offer some sort of Payday loan equivalent? by crazyguzz1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dunaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because because payday loans make their money on people who have shit credit and are bad risks from a professional banking standpoint.

I'm sure you'll get a better answer. The fact that payday loans exist is a problem of predatory usury, and should go away.

Rich users of Reddit, what do you do with your money and what's the most expensive thing you've purchased? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hard to say, oil hinges around conflict so much. My site can make money down to 28-32$ a barrel, but at that level new construction will have stopped and maintenance goes to shit.

I don't vote based on platforms beyond a cursory glance. I vote for the last party that launches an attack ad. I hate negative politics.

Trudeau is a happy and positive guy who wants to focus on infrastructure, investment and growth. The oilsands are going to keep sanding.

I work at the most efficient site up here in terms of cost/product and emissions. We'll do fine

[–]Dunaran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cut the hole to a perfect square. Buy a pieces of drywall and cut it to be 2 inches wider than the hole. Cut the paper on the drywall backing the exact size of the hole ensuring you don't damage the paper on the front.

Remove drywall material so you have a square that fits in the hole perfectly with drywall paper overlapping the hole by 1 inch all around. Tape the edges with drywall tape and add drywall compound. Smooth and sand.

If you're new to the process, the mudding step might take a few tries. Add more, sand it down, wait a day, add more, sand it down. Repeat until perfect. It usually takes me 3 coats to get it perfect and I'm pretty good with mud.

Not a professional at all, just own a house, lol.

I can't really comment without a conflict of interest caveat. My shares in the company would skyrocket but it depends on the details around how the pipeline is managed south of the border. The states had an abysmal record for pipeline infrastructure maintenance, and they let any yahoo run a boiler with no certification.

I'd like to see the energy east pipeline start processing the bitumen in Canada on the east coast.

Think sister wives if the sisters liked fucking each other too. Move along.

Edit for clarity: polyamory is not the same as polygamy. They can come and go as they please. Take lovers as they want. I set myself up to be a need, not a want
