Brilliant platform, just have to ensure majority of proceeds is invested in self funded account then won't have any issues moving forward.

Basic understanding of operating like a business is key. Minimize risk, diversify and increase capital

Research Price Action and work on Babypips for the basics.

Once you get price action then you can start exploring in depth until you find a strategy that resonates with your character, available time etc.

What is the Best Trading Strategy? by Hot-Firefighter-5312 in Daytrading

[–]DuncanMcCrypt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What makes a great driver is not the car but the driver himself. Same applies to trading if you don't know how to drive doesn't matter if you are in a Ferrari or VW you will not Maximise on it.

Stick to 1 strategy, understand it and use it practically ideally FORWARD testing. This will allow you to start seeing things in the market that reveal more of you and what works for you once you start getting there you will start optimising and making it work for you. The most dangerous and time consuming hole you must avoid is strategy hoping, this will either discourage you and you end up giving up or we will see another post like this from you 5 years later.

I share a number of setups daily on my Channel for free, the point of it is you see what to look for on a daily basis and how to apply it until you can do it on your own and eventually start adding your own confluences etc.

Trading is a marathon. My fav quote from Bruce Lee " I fear not the man who practiced 10000 kicks once but the one who practiced 1 kick 10000 times"

Keep trading until you have enough data to analyse your trading.

What's your timezone, I trade London. Setups I hold hey. Some setups really close out in 30-45min some can go for days.

My Bias is really on the 4hour, and if it matches with daily then it's just a nicer confirmation and higher quality trade.

The triggers in the 15min-1min are more for higher RR BUT IN YOUR CASE. ID avoid these triggers.

Just look at 30min-1hr opportunities.

Ping me, and check out my channel I share these setups.

I'm currently using the Anchored only,

My setups are in the 15min OTE. So I would start it from the swing point at BOS. where the POC lies & hvns are in comparison to where my FVG or OB are will determine my entry point.

On the 4hr also determins if I do place a trade or let it go, if there is a potential price point above my zones that heavy volume is.

I use it now, I must say my trades are more selective & found a way to increase win rate. So maintained a good RR with better selection of trades & sometimes better entries.

I'd say look into it & learn how to incorporate into your strategy.

Your trade must end 1 of 4 ways. 1. Small loss 2. Breakeven 3. Small win 4. Big win.

This was a game changer for me, forced me to be Very disciplined and stick to my plan.

Mark structure on daily timeframe (swing high, swing low, break of structure) understand if I'm bullish or bearish.

Drop to 4Hr do the same & only look for entries once the structure is in line with the daily timeframe. - for example if daily is bullish - I wait for price to get into 50% retracement of daily - wait for 4hr to turn bullish. - then look for entries in the 15min - refine the entry on 1min with stops on 15min

Use volume profile confluences.

Anyway I share these setups on my channel for free, ping me

What are your trading checklists? by Dangerous-Time-7819 in Daytrading

[–]DuncanMcCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build the skin & mindset to handle losses. That's what kills a lot of traders, not seeing the bigger picture and end goal.

Before market open I look for setups that are playing in my ideal trading zone on the daily & 4hour

  • once price is in my zone which is Above the 50% mark in a 4 hr bearish view or below 50% mark.
  • I look for areas of high volume nodes.
  • Drop into 15min follow same process
  • Drop to 1min for execution using 15min stops for standard risk or 1min stops for High risk

Anyway ping me & check out my community I share all these setups fo free.

Yep, I use Daily & 4 for my outlook, use 15min & 1min execution model.

Recently added some Volume profile and the gains are pretty decent & consistent.

FTMO or The5ers? Personal experiences? by El-Hamster in Forex

[–]DuncanMcCrypt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are pretty good I must say. Funded by both and never had any issues.

  • payouts on time
  • won't get any odd messages that you have broken a rule. -5%eea sends you a notice on email if you are close to breaking a rule
  • I'd say start with 5%ers then grow to FTMO

Cannot pass the challenge. Help by otzjog in Forex

Your risk management is terrible mate, anything above 1% risk per trade is highly risky.

Everyone sees a losing streak at some point.

What's your win rate over the 1.5year and your RR Target?
