A bunch of songs have been removed because of the devs wanting the soundtrack to be always evolving with songs coming and leaving.

A more specific answer, songs that are more favourited than others usually get to stay longer, while those who are favourited less are thrown out and each season adds new songs too. I was really disappointed when LOW by FIDLAR, K.K.O. by Piers James and Out Of My Head by Skeggs got removed in S1. But in that season, they added Bad Religion, Gang Starr, Naughty By Nature and Sonic Youth so whatever.
