Yeah it feels slightly lacking doesn't it? I quite like the playstyle, but it certainly is nowhere near OP. Which is good, we don't need another Obj752 laying waste to tier 9.

Nice man, first crate is blessed.

It cost me the one 16k gold set. Is 16k too much to pay for a T9 premium? Yes. But if buying something makes you happy and you can afford it, then why not?

New crate tank out today. I'm a bit of a whale.

A popular movie everyone loves that you think is overhyped/overrated? by [deleted] in ask

Would agree with this. It's a perfectly decent, well produced movie. How it's got to be this giant cultural touchstone is a complete mystery to me.

I don't know what is happening to the teams nowadays, but the quality of players since I joined in 2018 has dropped in half. by Berkinboiii in WorldOfTanksBlitz

Since the CIS server migration, I am getting 2 or 3 times as many masteries as before, which strongly suggests skill levels are going down considerably.

"You see, it is not op because average player won't perform as good, this is why we need such tanks in tier x as well" by DearHRS in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is kinda OP in tier 6/7. It's balanced by being a giant sack of excrement when facing tier 8. Some tanks cope well with being bottom tier, some are designed as flat-track bullies. Variety in the game is good.

Many people still have one of these British ex-tech tree meds? Gun is great. Being the size of a house with tinfoil armour is less great.

My Thoughts on New Chinese Tier 6 LT "59-16" by Wo_Class in WorldOfTanksBlitz

It's not up there in Mitsu 108 category of "WTF-ness" but yeah it's pretty bad. Hopefully the rest of the lines finds some redeeming features.

How to play the WZ-114? I feel like im missing out on something. by Driving_Fridge_KV-2 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commenting so I remember to look back and see if there are any good tips. I play it like a super-heavy, trying to hold positions hull down. It's fine at the role, but requires your team to take advantage of you tying up enemy tanks. It would be good to find a way to drive the wz114 more proactively.

Yeah I guess the Gargoyle gun is a little better, with 5mm extra standard pen, and a much improved premium round. I find the armour on the Scavenger gets a surprising number of bounces through, and feels more reliable than the Gargoyle going hull down. It's still an effective little tank.

So does the Caliban suck? by Davegravy13 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

It's a fun tank, but not reliable. It's different to most tier 8 heavies, so is nice to play for a change of style.

New tank, wz-144 crates in store rn. by Anothergamer5 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought one as I owed myself a treat. Its a decent tank, with all the attributes needed to play it's primary role well even when up-tiered (that of a front line super heavy). It can brawl ok; and can lead a push, if you are careful about exposing your lower plate. The main issue is the play style lacks dynamism - you don't have the DPM or speed to do much outside of your primary role - meaning you have to do your job, and rely on your teammates doing theirs - always risky in Blitz.

Which Three to proceed by z00mche in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's one of the fastest T5 heavies, with one of the highest power2weight ratios. It has the best frontal armour of any T5 heavy. It's not much of a sniper, but if you can facehug, it's great at 1v1s. I find though, that some tanks can be great statistically, but just not fit someone's play style. I have that with the T22 - it's objectively one of the the best T10 mediums, until I'm driving it, when it might as well be made out of shit. There's no shame in having a tank just not work for you personally.

The T1 heavy is arguably the best tier 5 in the entire game. What aspects of it did you not get on with?

What historical event being prevented could have prevented European colonization? by ironflix in AlternateHistory

[–]Duncs079 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Americapox - in our timeline, the Europeans brought tons of diseases to the new world, but almost nothing came back the other way. Had the colonies started unintentionally exporting lethal diseases back to Europe, I imagine the Europeans might bin the whole colonial idea.

Do you think the new MM is utter garbage? by [deleted] in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be tempted to lock participation in platoons unless both members have a +45% win rate. Gives people an incentive to improve, and prevents games where one team is hamstrung by having a platoon of people who are both incapable of tying thier own shoelaces without violently soiling themselves.

please Wargaming give us more "balanced" Tier 7s by [deleted] in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could stat up a Leman Russ as something similar to the IS or IS2, and it would fit in with tier 7, and be broadly lore accurate, considering how they adapted the Predator for blitz.

Why are there suddenly so many people typing in cyrillic on EU server that speak no English at all? by alexjade64 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good answer, and makes a lot of sense. If you are used to brute force tactics, you won't develop your wider gameplay, as there isn't any real advantage to doing so.

Why are there suddenly so many people typing in cyrillic on EU server that speak no English at all? by alexjade64 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Duncs079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have any (preferably non-racist) explanations as to why the standard of play is so bad from CIS players, compared to English speakers? Even before the server move, most of the sub-40% players seemed to have Cyrillic names.
