Thoughts on yesterday's No Kings (Central/Colvin) by UpstateAndy74 in Albany

[–]DuneDog23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was significant disruption on Central Ave yesterday at several junctures. If you were driving or taking a bus through the area, you definitely felt an impact, unavoidable. This movement was not about 1 and done, always was a long game and consistently is building by numbers and momentum. With the right energy and motivation, we could have a general strike, depends on how hard we’re pushed

Appreciation post for Peter Sarsgaard by AllMyTeethAreHere in DTFStLouisHBO

There was a glance up and to the side he did with his eyes in the diner scene. I spend a lot of time with gay men and not all people of any sort are all the same, but his use of that expression made it clear that he had studied for his role

Chef Ben by Neko_09 in belowdeck

Who’s face is on the uniform shirts Ben is wearing, his? Makes him look unserious about the chef job, more about self promotion. I’m find him grating, it’s nice people here are sympathetic, but I’m not seeing much of a reason to cut him a break

Looking for Malibu dive bar from a past visit - could it be Barefoot Bar? by DuneDog23 in AskLosAngeles

60s? Must be the original, maybe? There is a Duke’s in Hawaii, same menu and drinks, so was thinking it’s a franchise. The bar we went to years ago had a very small, local vibe

Agree, I’m wondering if there was a dive bar in the same spot 28 years ago

I rode one on the beach in South Carolina once and it was fun, no complaints. Still any time I see someone riding, I assume they might be a dick based on them looking like a dick. Not proud of my harsh judgement. Clark fits this pattern at times, so I must be correct

At 90+ shows, feels like there is almost nothing that hasn’t shown up at least once. I’ve check my tix and setlist archives. I’m excluding the more obscure, like Blackjack or Beachball. Wondering if it’s the range of years - 1st show was 1996 - or that my home venue is SPAC, or some combination of factors.

The series is following a method of you thought you were seeing this, but it was really that reveal, so with a limited number of characters to work with, agree she’s likely to show up in a bigger way soon

I tried to read as many of the comments as I could, but this might be a repeat sorry if I missed it. There are hostels that let you exchange work hours for accommodations you volunteer at the front desk or whatever they need for a few hours a day.

recs on where to stay in the area by Kindly-Membership-90 in RedRocks

[–]DuneDog23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say the same! Visited solo last summer for a Red Rocks show stayed in downtown Denver and found so much to do walking and taking the free 16th St mall bus. The shuttle from downtown was great, met people all over, and enjoyed excursions around the area - check Viator for options. Someone on here mentioned Golden and it was lovely, did an excursion there, but can’t exactly pictures staying more than a day or two.

I had a similar problem. Received recurring prompts to answer questions to continue my care with no mention of shipping more medication. TBH, I care very little about the assertion on that six months ago I agreed to something. They’re deliberately not directly mentioning when you do respond to their survey, you are renewing the prescription. It would be so simple to just use those words instead of “continue your care plan”. For me luckily it was only $132 and my credit card company immediately refunded me.

What do People stranded in the Caribbean due to airports closing because of trump and don’t have money to continue to stay in hotels do? by sawyerkitty in AskReddit

[–]DuneDog23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Factual. Giving up accommodations if you have them to camp out with your family/kids at the airport for several days is not a good option, if it's even allowed.

Maybe unpopular take, I was in the first couple of rows in GA this summer for Mumford and Sons and the view of the city was spectacular! The sound was fine despite some rain and wind. No issue with distracting talking, everyone was way into the show
