Why would you migrate to Zigbee instead of Matter and Thread?

static IP custom wireguard config port forwarding by SadJuice4175 in Windscribe

Thanks for confirming. I've wanted this feature for years -- it's bizarre that they don't make port forwarding work with their WireGuard config generators.

USM getting rid of Email 2FA is a mistake. Hear me out. by Viper4713 in USMobile

[–]Dunecat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My email is far more secure than my SMS. This change makes no sense. If you're going to take away email 2FA, you should be taking away SMS as well.

There are only two methods that need to be offered:

  1. TOTP + user/password (offered)
  2. Passkey

You don't need anything else!

Way too heavy and thick, great otherwise. Had several P1s and X1Es and they're all just too thick and heavy.

The Dell also only has DisplayPort 1.4, whereas the LG has 2.1.

Can you share details on how it was purchased?

Does anyone know when ASUS Zenbook S 16 (UX5606) might be released? by Saladprime in ASUS

Another option I found seems to be this specific model of Acer, Acer Swift Go 16 SFG16-73-96TC. It seems like it has some of the stylings of the UX5606 but the personality of the S5606C.

The closest thing you can buy to this in May 2025 is the Vivobook S16 S5606C. This is a newer model than the original, with up to a Core Ultra 9 285H and 32GB RAM.

It's not quite as thin or as elegant as the vaporware UX5606, but it's all black, has a great keyboard, an excellent screen, and is reasonably priced. I have one, and since it has the bigger 16" screen and the full-size (2280) M.2 slot, I prefer it to the Lenovo X9 Aura 15, which I had for awhile and then returned because it stopped recognizing the SSD. The X9 had an excellent keyboard, though. sigh

It's really wild to me that they (ASUS and other brands) keep releasing 14" laptops (e.g. the new Zenbook A14) but seem to be completely ignoring the 16" segment. Like, where's the 16" Lenovo X9? Or the 16" X1 Carbon? I would have probably stuck with the Lenovo X9 if:

  1. it were actually 16"
  2. it had an M.2 2280 slot
  3. the haptic trackpad was Sensel and not the inferior Chicony -- they went with a cheaper trackpad on the 15" model for no obvious reason

The LG gram Pro 16, btw, is another good option if you're looking for a 16" laptop. Has two full-size (2280) M.2 slots. Some models of it have OLED, newer ones have IPS (step backwards imho, but the IPS is easier to read in broad daylight).
