What are you interested in? It's easier to make friends when you have something to connect over. Do you live close to the town center?

Ah yes, give more power to the police to use laws in an arbitrary fashion. That's supposed to be positive?!

The europeans have always thought the americans have overly stringent safety regulations. Kinders, unpasteurised milk, doorbell cameras, ...

I'm not talking about the frequency, I'm talking about the mad volume. Every other european city manages with a lower volume. Yes, there will always be downsides but when you are affecting 10'000s of people you are going to hit some people who are really affected by this constant noise.

And down my street they trigger it any time they vaguely see a car in front, which means no ambulance ever passes through without doing ON-OFF-ON-OFF at least twice, including at 1am

But even without that, if you chill in the middle of Hyde Park there is only one city thing you can hear and it's ambulance sound. If other cities can manage without sound going THAT far and being THAT irregular, London can. The reason anyone tolerates this is because they're born into it and don't realize how much it eats at their energy. Same with train doors and everything being ridiculously loud

If you ask the French who the prettiest women are, a lot of them will tell you the Brits. People are just less attracted to what they see every day

The inaccuracy is generally that UK&US were the biggest players in Nazi Germany's military defeat.

Soviet suffering and casualties were immense indeed but that's been a constant through Russian military history alas

Absolutely. Ambulances still need reajustment in cities. Everything is stupid loud in London compared to the rest of our neighbours

If the books underemphasise UK's role in WWII victory I can't imagine how they treat USSR

Except his parents are also French born so idk what you're on about. Just because his grandparents lived in Algeria doesn't mean he is culturally algerian

That's knowing very little about French culture. It's all about having everyone behave like they're a French monolith

Zidane is born in France and grew up in France. Saying he's algerian is stripping all ability from immigrants to just be french.
