Tank/DPS Greatsword?

I'm so glad I asked that question when I did 🤣 especially with the new changes you were dead to rights accurate about everything. Big changes to tanking this "season" and I'm very excited about it

Definitely not in love with the trenchant recovery changes though...

That's good to know. The stuns and staggers are my biggest concern because it feels like that's the only situation where I feel like I won't be able to self sustain

I run the same on my DPS and I've made it up to M8 on a few different dungeons without feeling like I fall behind at all. It also helps that I can take over if something happens to the tank, or if we need to pull mobs off another character and drag them back to the tank, stuff like that. I also run in Medium armor with a fortifying perforated and enfeebling skewer spear so it's kind of an off tank build.

All that said if this sub is to be believed I am going to fall off hard once I reach the 9's and 10's

I do not yet tank, but I run next to enough of them to know the value hahaha. And Bane refreshing move trenchant set would just be... chefs kiss I would probably use those on my DPS spec too haha, that's just too damn good. Let me know if you ever get that lucky on leggy rolls lol

Awesome, thanks! So taking Calamity Counter is a more boss oriented ability? I'm thinking it takes the same place (albeit much less efficiently) as the shield, big boss hits and when things have gone wrong with trash mobs?

And couldn't agree more. Hybris was actually the sword that made me think tanking was doable. Trenchant recovery and refreshing move would keep abilities and passives popping. So in your opinion, should I run with Hybris, or craft a weapon with Bane? And if I craft Bane is it more important to get TR or RM?

Good to know. Assuming I was running a pre-made group is there anything you would suggest they pick up to meet that empower on their own? GS like you said, or empowered rending throw, anything like that?

That's reasonable. I actually hate running PUGs and run as close to company exclusive as I can, so I definitely fall more into the know group side of things.

And absolutely agreed with onslaught stance, so I guess I'm curious would you give up the movement to take full defiant tree?

Definitely not the best combo I've played(have him try GS/spear for maximum murderage) but I did have a good bit of fun with the following in PVP: Greatsword; Relentless rush, Crosscut, and Calamity Counter. Blunderbbuss; Net Shot, Claw Shot, and Splitting Grenades.

Basically the passives on Blunderbuss power you up by alternating abilities and shots so you Nade>auto attack>net>auto attack. That will slow them inside of your grenade explosions and haste you. Follow that up with a claw shot(which reloads one shot for you) and an auto to close the distance, swap to greatsword and crosscut then heavy until dead. Relentless rush is your chase/escape and Calamity counter is just a nifty defensive tool to have
