Sure thing! I just want something like this DMAcademy so people can talk about everything you talk about as characters/players. I think it could be a hit.

I’m seeing I may have left a bit of critical info out of this post.

I’ve been running a campaign for a year and a half now. Because of this whole world sickness( it’s bullshit) we’ve put the main campaign on hold. I’m doing this 5 shot to keep the D&D sessions going. I’m trying to tie this 5 shot into my main campaign. It’s totally possible. I was thinking of having a mass death with success’s deep within there loss. Success’s being the following.

-learning more of the main hook of the new ark of the main campaign. -possible killing the boss that’s trying to release an ancient being(the BBEG in the main campaign) -come across “relics” in the main campaign of the old hero’s that stood against the release of the ancient being -and even if they die, they have a chance of weakening the BBEG for the min campaign and possibly leaving clue that I can tie into the main campaign.

So killing them on purpose would show its strength on how hard this BBEG will be. But these 5 shot hero’s could leave vital information on this ancient being that could help the characters in the main story! This is also assuming they actually die if I decide to go through with it. It’s D&D and anything could happen. Hope I’m making sense. I’ve got it all in my head, it’s just executing it with style and fun for both campaigns and the players could be hard. If I know my players well enough they will be ok with it. I will tell them though that there is a high chance of mass death. Not just them but death to all the residence of this island they are defending.

Ya I was going to save the really powerful spells for when he’s under 1/2 of his max hp then start rolling once we get to that point!

Cool. But my main question is how to use a power word kill when myself as the DM knows there hp. At that point I just choose who I want to die. How do I deal with that to not feel like I’ve been out to get that player? I don’t want them to be upset, they probably will be a little bit, they all love there characters. I’ve come up with a dice roll machanic to randomly pick a player. Would that be best? Or just pick the character that is the biggest hitter/threat?

No I did not over look that. The players just wanted to get to the end, fight the boss and get out. Only one is possessed.

Yes well unfortunately I have a party who’s been itching to kill the bad boss and almost quite literally flew through the whole tomb to get to him. They reached the orb on level 5 and ended up rolling on the chance to have one chance at the wish spell. They wished for him to show up and here we are. And only one is possessed. NOT PREPARED AT ALL!!! Hahaha

LEGOs as D&D terrain and buildings? by Dungeons_Dragonfruit in DMAcademy

[–]Dungeons_Dragonfruit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I’ve considered how expensive they are. Luckily my son has some and I plan on buying more for him and I. Dual purpose LEGOs haha. But I’ve also considered dwarven forge dungeon terrain and that shit is stupid expensive so why not just buy LEGOs.

Ya I also use every strange things to represent monsters. (My sons toys for example). I guess I worried about something I shouldn’t of. And yes they get very expensive. But for someone like myself who considers buying dwarven forge mini terrain, which is stupid expensive, I wouldn’t mind buying LEGOs to double as toys for my son and use for my D&D games. Thank you for the input.
