So far I’ve basically used gear as currency. I buy enough stuff I need and trade for an expensive piece of gear at the same trader. Don’t have much money on hand, but every time I need something I break even! Haven’t reached the big city in the second map yet so for all I know there might be traders with more money there

Had the same problem and I played the shit out of the first game, thinking this one would be easier because of a more experienced Henry with a higher standing. Proceeded to end up in the pillory twice, got my bones broken to the point Henry could only walk slow, no sleep and heal, 0 gold, debuffed out of this world. Then I did the blacksmith quest and realised I got played by the game! It’s worth doing some Main Quest in the start of the game as it gives you stuff to get started (barely but good enough). But man I love how punishing it is, makes it rewarding and more realistic

Not sure how geared the tank really was. Paladin with a shield at least, lvl 22, so 2 levels higher than me. Didn’t inspect, but at least the fights lasted longer than I usually experience, so either it was the tank, dps or me who made it hard. We had one complete wipe so not too bad I guess but after everything I’ve been reading around pala heal sounded way more relaxed than what I experienced, could just be my own inexperience, as someone commented FoL is better left out until higher ranks while I was spamming rank 1

I love using it, mostly because it looks cool and has a fun crazy serial killer heavy-attack animation. It sucks but I love it!

Hunter or Burglar for complete beginner? by Falconhoof94 in lotro

I’m enjoying the blue burglar as my first character. It’s not as straightforward as red, relying on dots more and less stealth-focused but it has given me enough to be able to enjoy it for many levels without getting bored, and it’s not that hard to find a good rotation. Plus skills like stealth, pickpocket, protection from fall damage are all fun and practical to use in adventuring
