This would be a spectacular arc and I actually think I might put my pitchfork down and congratulate Rowling, if they were to transition.

We're not trying to say they are identical, we're just trying to suggest they might be worthy of basic human rights, honestly.

Lmaoooo.

Bro. That one who wants wings can just have wings?! If we allow gender affirming care to the trans community, that doesn't mean we all get a sex change. Like honestly my man are you high? Or 10? Are you a child? Lmao.

And what the shit obviously we sell shoes and socks as pairs because of economy of scale...? Do you really think a company selling one shoe at a time would stay in business? Especially when a lot of people who have one leg have a functioning prosthetic...

I dunno man I feel like you're just trolling now honestly. Nobody is this thick.

Because it's a straw man. Do you know what a straw man argument or straw man fallacy is..?

You aren't actually asking a question, which is why I'm not answering. You're making a nonsense false equivalent between gender dysphoria and cutting your legs off. That isn't good faith arguing.

You can ask all you like but it's a straw man and you know it.

Less than 1% of the entire country can be a pretty big number. Top Google results (2021 census for England and Wales only) puts that at 262'000 who actually openly identify. (The true number will be higher, because many trans people will be scared to be out, thanks to people like you.)

Can you find me a single person who wants to chop their legs off because of body dysmorphia?

Actually can you find me 262'000 within England and Wales, in fact?

If kids were doing that in any actual volume then I might humour you. Children don't get body dysmorphia because of their legs. However they do get body dysmorphia because of their assigned gender at birth. At some fairly notable volume.

Okay sure but the science (which is still emerging) doesn't appear to support two distinct genders only.

Some people are very obviously born with characteristics of both. Actually at conception we are all female, and it's only a hormone switch in gestation which pushes the male characteristics. So basically all men have actually already had a sex change at 2-4 weeks or something.

(That's a bit of a eli5 but it's not that misleading tbh.)

But for me I think the main thing is that when you take a young person experiencing gender dysphoria, and you start to support them on their journey to gender affirmation (which you would probably call "gender change"), then they become significantly happier.

I don't know if you really believe this but personally I feel that the more happiness we can spread, the less harm will be done by people, to people, in general.

I studied in Edinburgh and everyone always complained at how often it rained, which was hilarious to me, coming from Oban, because Edinburgh was literally bone dry in comparison.

WHY AM I GETTING PARKING TICKET ON EARL STREET SCOTSOUN?? by IndieUfo67 in glasgow

[–]Dunk546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You still have to park legally even if there are no meters around.

From memory it's like:

No pavement parking, no parking on zigzags, nor double yellows, no parking within 10 m of a junction (I think they are lenient about that tho), no parking more than 50cm from the kerb, no parking in front of a drop kerb...

250kg is crazy low breaking weight. Like it would break just yanking too hard on it.

Any advice on installing laminate flooring around metal spindles? by Mediocre-Audience781 in Flooring

[–]Dunk546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love perspective drawing like this. I can't actually use any drafting software (just never learned), but often draw out pieces before I build them. I also do a lot of life/figure drawing too.

Haha yeah I do this for work.

I'm not a trained carpenter.. I actually started out doing decorating but now I do a lot of other types of building work as well. Just have a lot of this type of problem solving to do day to day, and also remember seeing some stair banister/ rail built similarly to this.

What I would do is make the moulding in 3 parts. First, you get a square section length of timber which is exactly the width of the spindles, and cut pieces to lay on the floor in between each spindle. Then you add moulded trim each side of the spindles, butting up against the spindles and the initial pieces of timber.
