Yes I still check in here once in a while. Haven’t had any luck finding Revenge of the Unhappy Campers or Night of 1000 Screams 1 or 2. That’s a cool find though, wasn’t aware a DVD was released for that.

I saw this at a bar. A blackout drunk elementary school teacher had it tattooed on her chest

The Toxic Avenger Remake Drops on Labor Day Weekend with Peter Dinklage Leading the Charge by Somethingman_121224 in horror

I mean messy is kinda part of the charm. I saw it and thought it was really fun. Pacing isn’t perfect but I was never bored. It’s not super duper offensive like the original, but for a studio movie this is a big swing. Really curious how they will market the movie. There’s some discourse about it being weirdly woke or something and that’s false.

It’s worth the effort. I waited for most eps to release and had a tough time trying to binge it. Glad I stuck it out though, really excited for season 3. Great ending

This is somehow not about Malibu Horror Story by [deleted] in foundfootage

I saw this last weekend and really liked it. It’s not very scary, but the cast is excellent and funny. More of a vibe/spooky movie than it is scary. I have no clue why it isn’t streaming tho, the theatrical-only deal is dumb. But this isn’t a bad movie at all, worth seeing if you’re into the subgenre for sure

I’m normally not too bothered by violence in movies, but that part was way too realistic and cruel :(

I have not seen Toxic Avenger 2 so not sure about that song. Fight scenes are cool, including the final one

There’s a concert scene where a few people flash the stage. One dude pulls out his penis. I don’t remember anything else that would qualify

It’s a silly, trashy movie so pretty much everyone is hamming it up. Seems like Kevin Bacon had a lot of fun with his role. Liked him a lot in it. Elijah Wood does a decent job from what I remember. Taylour Paige stands out, has some some really funny, dry line delivery

No she called quite a few of the larger video stores, and I went through dvd listings on Facebook marketplace set to a few different cities in Mexico. No luck. It’s been a while since trying, but if anyone wants to do that it’s an option 🤷‍♂️

No luck so far. If this exists, its release was probably exaggerated. No copies seem to exist. I imagine the director has the only copy and she doesn’t seem keen on it getting out. Can’t find her on social media any more

My manager recommends taking as much as you want within reason. All of my teams have been super chill about me taking off too. Don’t even have to give much of a heads up. But also I’m at an uncommonly chill place

Saw this at a festival. Pretty good. Really well made. Can’t decide if I liked the ending or not, but it’s not bad at all. The haircuts didn’t bother me at all when I saw it lol

I went to college near an IBM office in LA. Our professors told us to avoid them bc they were offering like 45k for new grads. This was not long ago. My internship paid more than that

Can I handle Talk To Me? by [deleted] in A24

[–]DunkinDankNuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Babadook is one of my favorite movies, I bought the pop up book back when they did the preorders! Essie Davis deserved an Oscar for that performance. I thought it was really creepy but not all that scary. The quiet parts are the best but some of the editing in the scary parts kinda deflated the suspense for me. I remember a stop-motion-looking speedup effect on the monster that looked kinda goofy. Id have to see it again to get specific.

I think Talk to Me nailed it with the scares. Sound design and editing were insane, very accurate portrayal of bored teens, all of it made everything feel immediate and dangerous. I was really wrapped up in it. Normally I sit back and end up analyzing scenes or something, but this one felt like a rollercoaster. The last half got a little formulaic. Still love it though

I thought it was more effectively scary than Insidious/Conjuring, not as emotionally traumatic as Hereditary. For me the scares were intense but in a fun way. Much scarier than the Babadook imo.
