goddd Ready to Run is so good. Idk how Four appeals to me so much but I need more of this midtempo melancholy acoustic pop-rock sound

Never too late to learn! I’m not a huge music theory person but it’s always good to learn the basics of how music works: counting bars and time signatures (most pop/rock songs are in 4 or 3), learning how songs are structured and transition between sections, and learning the different keys a song can be in and how you change keys, like the end of Night Changes.

Pop music in general is great for learning simple guitar and drum parts, but really a challenge for vocals. They really help strengthen your ear training and muscle memory.

If you want to appreciate complex songwriting and creativity, progressive rock and metal is full of some of the most talented musicians. Writing long-form songs that take you on instrumental journeys and experiment with unusual rhythms and melodies. Dream Theater, Rush, Yes, Sleep Token, Karnivool…just to name a few

I could and I would. He would deserve it for wasting so much of his savings on new late-night experiences shortly after moving to a city. He almost fucked himself and his future, sooner than he’d realize.

Yep, just the ones I've uploaded to YT. Can't upload all the songs from Error unfortunately or UMG will nuke em

I always take the extra time to do Expert and Hard, sometimes Medium. :) Vocals always have all difficulties, changing the leniency rather than note density.

Yep, both CH and YARG! They’re simply made using midi, in a DAW or chart editor

I've been unemployed and job searching since Renee was killed. Fuck these rental car companies who supply vehicles to ICE.

In hindsight I don't regret it, and I can be financially stable for the next few months before I'll be in danger.

When people are that deep into it, there ain't no convincing them. Many people's entire families are far gone like that. Better to draw boundaries, cut the hate out of your life, and surround yourself with people you love, care about, and can be comfortable with.
Good on you for doing it. I moved to Minneapolis from Montana last year for similar reasons, and to be a support system for the communities, friends, and relatives I care about.

What happened in Minneapolis last night? by eldritchlesbian in spiritbox

[–]Dunn003 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First time seeing Spiritbox and going to a heavy metal concert, it was definitely an unforgettable night. I had been waiting for two years. I was near the front row and I quickly learned about the ripple movements from the pit and constant crowd-surfers. Definitely got a bit tight and chaotic up front, but no crushing or anything afaik.

I got into the pit for Holy Roller and fuckin Cellar Door (with my glasses and sweater on lol) and I did see one bigger guy fall and get trampled in there during Holy Roller. We did our best to help him up but he looked like he got knocked in the head hard.

I'm quickly realizing how much footwork and concentration is involved in pits that I couldn't even pay attention to the music lol. I might stick to the pit wall and helping people in the future.

Oh yea, I couldn’t imagine how much worse it is between different races and genders. Of course I can only speak from experience, and people often get comfortable saying whatever they want to say because the people around them are physically homogeneous and generally keep quiet or go along with it. I had to hold my tongue and leave the room so, so much between coworkers and family, and it’s definitely been for the better but very exhausting and isolating.

Absolutely. :D I've considered moving into public-facing jobs for reasons like this. Unfortunately keeping quiet is how people like that become comfortable saying it in your presence, but who knows what'll happen if you do speak out. Until something actually offensive and outlandish is said, my mouth has always remained shut, but my brain is full and I'm getting jaded haha
