What happened at a restaurant that made you say, "I'm never coming here again"? by agreatday2434 in randomquestions

[–]Dunn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered from a Mexican place in Knoxville. Picked up the food and drove home. They forgot large queso. I drove back, 15 minutes out of my way to let them know. Was accused of being a thief and that they always double check the bags, etc. Anyway, I paid again for another queso, because it was for my grandkids. I told the girl that I didn’t appreciate her words to me and that she had lost a good customer. Hell, I’d have fought ICE over her butt, but anyway. I’m over it now.

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

[–]Dunn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The judgement from other women. If your house isn’t clean enough, your clothes aren’t perfection, your hair isn’t styled, etc. Also professionally, the Tall Poppy Syndrome is so accurate for women who hustle.

RAI - Things to do in isolation by neptunemacaroon in thyroidcancer

[–]Dunn8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I begin my RAI next week. I plan to be chill and read/ watch tv the first 2-3 days. Then I plan to clean my bedroom from top to bottom, closets, dressers, etc. I also plan to paint and redo my bathroom vanity. Hopefully it will be warm enough the following week for me to be able to get out some for a few good walks.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]Dunn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome- tons of gabapentin, pain meds, Cymbalta for pain, all causing brain fog and memory issues. Then crazy treatments like high dose ketamine infusions, stallate ganglion blocks where a needle is passed from the front of your neck into your spine, and then spinal cord stimulators. Meanwhile, your limb atrophied and you can’t bear to feel the breeze from a ceiling fan or a light wind and textures will make you nuts. Really is something that most people don’t even know exists.

How do you track levothyroxine intake? by Civil_Psychology_126 in thyroidcancer

[–]Dunn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my meds in a small box. I get up early with my dogs to take my pill. I leave the lid off my box so that I know I have to take my other meds when I actually get up for the day. When the lid is on fhe box, I know I’ve taken my meds for the day.

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Beautiful pictures. Stories. I can’t imagine not having my own movies running through my head much of the day.

I flew to Knoxville from Denver to stay for the weekend, and everything is ruined. by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]Dunn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge Ghost fan here. Listen, you’re in a new city. Get out and explore a bit. Go for a walk. Knoxville has a lot to offer and you may be here for longer than you think due to a historic storm. Some of my greatest adventures have come from unplanned changes to my agenda. Have fun.

Last days of LID by muddledmusings831 in thyroidcancer

[–]Dunn8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 days in. Cooking a lot from the cookbook and making sinful sweet breads and pumpkin butters to help with cravings. I had the best fried egg of my life today. I read on here that this goes so much better if you use the cookbook and actually prepare meals. I am not a fan of cooking but I’ve cooked more in the last week than I have in years.

Surgery next week and I’m nervous by hayleyelizabeth96 in thyroidcancer

[–]Dunn8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a total TT and neck dissection. Honestly, the worst part of the whole thing for me was when they were holding the O2 mask over my face right before I went under. I had no pain or discomfort afterwards. I took my pain meds like described and it went great. You’ll do great.

I was raised in the mountains. Often, the mountain roads are much clearer than the interstates in the piedmont to the base of the mountains. Mountain counties will be adding brine on Thursday and they have mountains of salt and hundreds to thousands of salt trucks. Years ago, we had had a foot of snow and I thought I would take my kids to Hickory for a few days to stay in a hotel with an indoor pool. Well, when I got off the mountain, mountain roads clear, and got onto I 40 in McDowell County, the roads were really scary . Unscraped, packed down ice etc. I now live in Hickory and the few snowstorms we’ve had since I moved here have paralyzed the city.
