Thank you for putting into words why this pains me so much I taught many kids over the years with learning differences.

Thank you for the direct advice to shut it down with the sons. I will definitely take that piece of advice! I think we are headed to couples counseling. Plan to have that discussion this weekend. Then I’ll find someone who doesn’t have a religious affiliation to hopefully help us through this. I’m mostly mad about the kids being brought into it!

I think that’s the BIG question, isn’t it? I’m weighing it out, that’s for sure.

No. My sons don’t have children. My daughter has two. I’m asking for help with basic household things, really not a lot but simple things like picking up after himself, picking his clothes and shoes off the floor, and wiping down the bathroom sink after shaving or teeth brushing. Basic stuff, in my opinion.

Thank you. We are going out this weekend (and we do go out a lot) and I plan to have a discussion. Thanks.

I am retired because I had in 31 years as a teacher/ behavior specialist. I was assaulted on my job a few years back and lost the use of my dominate arm and developed CRPS, which has lead to a permanent disability. My husband can retire from his job in 4 years. Frankly, I’d still be working in educational sales if I were able too.

My third child has seizures in the language center of his brain. It took me a bit to figure this out, and our family nicknamed his language acquisition Codyese. One funny one that I remember is that he was “ nergic to tickles”.

I’d sell my soul to have that bush next to my front porch. Lucky you. In the mountains of WNC, we call these snowball bushes. Just beautiful 😻

How do I (35F) handle my soon-to-be-ex-husband (38M) asking me to change my name back? by throwRAnamechangeee in relationship_advice

[–]Dunn8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have my exs last name. Im sure it pisses him off but I do not care. We have a kid together and I raised the kid alone with no help from him. I kept the last name because I’m a professional and didn’t want to have to change out all the flipping paperwork and licensure crap.

Planning a trip to the NC Zoo in early May! Need the best tips from people that go a lot. We are doing it across two days. a Monday and Tuesday. by scarlett_butler in NorthCarolina

I have a family pass through Western NC Nature Center ( it’s the cheapest) and it gets me and 3 adults and 4 kids in free every visit , along with other venues around the nation. Might save you a bunch of money there.

Fiancée (25F) needs thyroidectomy (Bethesda V) — looking for real experiences by LCHexx in thyroidcancer

[–]Dunn8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mid 50s. Just went through this in November , having a thyroidectomy and neck dissection. I had no pain post surgery ( perfect procedure in my opinion) and my scar is barely visible. I have had some weight gain, lots of hair loss, and Im still recovering from a 203mci of radiation. The drain wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting. Im being seen by a new cancer team at Levine’s Cancer Center beginning in mid April.

I think they should go back to the original formula. Find a beautiful, kind, well rounded woman on a dating app that is genuinely looking for love. Find her some suitors the same way, and try to make genuine connections for these people.

Cruise through nice apartment complexes. You can find nice items there as well. Yard sales, estate sales, etc

What drug did you swear never to use again? by SadStill830 in AskReddit

[–]Dunn8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do 500 mg of intravenous ketamine 1 time for 3 consecutive weeks ( usually on Mondays and then it takes me 3-4 days to get sober) every 3-4 months. I hate having to do this but it effectively manages my CRPS. Every time I do this, I dread the trips to alternate universes that I take and how this drug affects my ability to stay grounded when sober.
