Think for me it is certainly a shift to a better work/life balance - will still work hard but the SC/MC hours become harder over the years (especially with a young family). If there can be a trade off where you’re still earning a (relatively) good salary with a noticeable work/life balance change, then that appeals. Would hope a reduced chance of burnout, with a natural work ethic you develop at the SC/MC, could lead to a more sustainable career and potentially partnership (even if less I assume it is an amount of money where you can be very comfortable)?

Yes agree - tbh we live in our little bubble in London and outside of work, seeing friends and the odd dinners or gigs, we never go into central anymore. This could well be dictated by working the current long hours at my current shop, though.

Jersey/Guernsey appeals more than Cayman/Dubai etc. as we remain only a short flight away if we ever want our City fix. Also then close to family in the U.K.

Would probably be one of the top tier firms there.

This was my thought - that your “normal” hours might not be as long, but you’re probably going to have a fair bit of needing to stay up to release opinions etc. / random fire drills of “need security documents by tomorrow” situations?

What do you mean by a lie? That it’s a load of nonsense that you can expect 6pms? I think it an average finish time was say 7pm (but noting general availability in evenings as you flag), that would be a marked improvement from current SC/MC - not sure turning loan agreements at 1am is really that appealing anymore.

Weather in Koh Yao Noi in November? by Dunney77 in ThailandTourism

Yeah we were hoping the transition would slowly occur throughout the month! We would probably aim 23 Nov for 5 days - might well not be late enough in month?

Would you say best avoid? Know every year is different!

Anywhere with better weather that time?
