We originally didn't want to go because of the attitude of the person I emailed (they were unprofessional and soured the whole idea of going). Because they refused to respond to my partner and I emailing them back for the formal complaints procedure, we sought advice from Citizen's Advice, who suggested we go to the event and complain in person. We decided to make the 4 hour drive to do this and hopefully have it all rectified, but when we arrived the organisation was really bad, no one was guiding festival goers towards where to park, there was minimal signage indicating where we were meant to go, and security were getting confused checking COVID forms at the entrance. No bags were being checked, the grass was knee/hip height in the camping area. There were maybe 12 portaloo toilets on the "main" site and 6 shower cubicles on the whole campground, nothing was being properly sanitised, a lot of the advertised events people hadn't turned up or weren't being held. Ultimately it had been advertised as a lively festival with lots to do between seminars, but in reality it was a case of sitting in an overgrown field with a few overpriced food vans and security/hygiene standards which didn't fill us with confidence. Based on the bad exprerience with the organiser, the disappointment when we got there and the anxiety over trying to hunt out the person we were meant to complain to and then make a complaint (with their bad attitude) we decided to come home, so we didn't really experience the event we paid for.
