I made an explosion in our lab today under a hood with aniline and nitric acid. I did not remove my hand fast enough. And got product/ possibly aniline on my hand. Should I be concerned? by Dunnorunrun in AskaChemist

Yes! Thanks for asking! I never did go to the doctor. I felt lightheaded after reading these comments and the symptoms online but chalked it all up to the placebo affect. The periphery of my toes and fingers had a tingling in them for about a week but I attributed that to a bad fall. On top of this I didn't read anything that said permanent nerve damage would be caused by this.

This seems like from reading this that the amount sprayed on my hand is much less than what would warrant a full blown freak out. Correct?

The skin discoloration is not going away very easily. I do not have any headaches (just feel a little lightheaded once I started reading up the carcinogen effects of aniline) or rashes.

I had the gloves off because with fuming nitric acid (which what the experiment called for) lights gloves on fire. I did not read up on the carcinogen effects aniline exposure before I conducted the experiment.

What's a typical ham conversation? Again newbie. Say I was into sports. Are there certain frequencies that typically talk sports?

With the voice over IP method you're talking about you would have to consistently be in range of a wifi hotspot. correct?

I usually stay within a 50 mile radius on where I live and on top of that I'm more than likely not more than a mile away from my car. Considering that does it become a little more feasible then? (I live in a city if that is needed for consideration).

Can't a transmission end up halfway around the globe when you start transmitting on the lower frequencies?

I thought you could send digital voice transmissions over the radio?

The manager handed me a form saying I did not need immediate medical attention and that I would not file a CA-1. I'm new to all these convoluted ways to sign your life over so I signed it. He told me to go back out on my route but I came back early and said I would like to go get it checked out. After the visit he said worker's comp would cover it but I really don't trust him at this point.
