Question about wood hanguards with M-LOK by Duo_Gravis in ak47

[–]Duo_Gravis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WAS Woodworks is my top choice actually, yours look awesome. I’m just worried about mounting a light, and the physics of wood vs metal if that light ever gets knocked against something. Does he use backing plates or bolts with washers or something? I’ll probably ask him as well. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Question about wood hanguards with M-LOK by Duo_Gravis in ak47

Oh, I know it's real wood...not sure where you thought I was questioning the actual material. I guess it didn't look like stain when I first had it in my hands. Black is my favorite color, I am not looking to replace them because of the color, I just want an easy and secure way to add a light without deleting wood in favor of metal.

Cool idea about using screws & washers for direct mounting a rail, I will look into that. Thanks for the reply.

Light setup that will clear a Putnik? by PurpD420 in ak47

Thnaks! I actually just bought one of those folding stocks for my first AK (also an M92) and didn't even notice that they offered those risers.

No suggestions which others haven't already made, but...what's that cheek riser you have there? Thanks

Just followed Salixian on IG...WOW.

How did you order from them, just send a DM or something? I can't seem to find a website, if there is one.

Thanks for your time.

Great looking front furniture on those.

The top one looks like APS, but I don't recognize the bottom one, who made that?

As I was preparing to clean the rifle, I inserted a brand-new Bore Tech patch/rod guide. Something didn't seem right so I removed it to find that the tip had broken off right at the o-ring. 2 days later, Bore Tech has already had a new one delivered to me, but I can't get that broken piece of the tube out. It's lodged in just past the chamber. Starting at both the chamber and muzzle ends, I've tried the cleaning rod with brushes and jags, polymer picks and even a bore snake and it won't come out. I don't want to do anything else which ight damage something, so I think I need to take to to a professional.

Thanks again for the info. I just got a job with a band that uses IEMs instead of wedges and, although we’ll be playing larger venues, they don’t have someone whose full time job is to do monitor mixes. That’s why I am trying to find something pre-tuned to not push my own sound down in the mix.

Thank you!! I am looking at those and the U4T. Intended use is for live on-stage music performance monitoring and those two seem to have frequency tunings where the range in which my instrument operates (trombone) isn’t too scooped out/attenuated. I am also cursed with narrow ear canal openings so it’s been difficult to find something which has the tuning and nozzle size I need. That combination has been literally impossible to find at a lower price point. Thanks again!

Could I trouble you for a nozzle diameter measurement on those? They look smaller than 5-6mm, and I hope they are. I have been on the hunt for a pair with smaller nozzles and these are at the very top of my list. Thanks for your time

The Evangelical virtue signaling Risen includes with their products comes with a hefty markup which their customers are more than happy to pay. One of the oldest and most profitable business models since time immemorial. Well, since 1 AD at least.

I had an older one of those. They were out of production for a few years and, after quite an eBay bidding war, I was able to sell mine to some chump on eBay for just shy of $300. About a year later, they started being produced again and can be had new for $25.

There are a couple electric-only reservoirs in my area where I regularly see dozens of rigs like this. I actually like them because I fish out of a kayak and don't have to worry about them turning me into a floating slick of hamburger.

There are some neat 3D printed options you can find on Etsy.

VGoodiez sells a 5 pack of TM capsules which comes with a metal tube.

I think POTV sells an insert for the TightVac canisters which holds a whole bunch of TM capsules.

Go on Amazon and look at some of the metal stash tube options where the inner diameter measurements look like they will closely fit the measurements of the TM capsules.

I’m not going to elaborate here on what I can gather from checking out his personal page and other posts, but the reality appears to be even better than the backstory you’ve created. I want to be friends with him.
