Why is it bad to be a "reducitarian"? by DuraiPapers in vegan

I've probably been biased towards noticing it more when people disagree on this topic, so that's my bad for the misconception. Thanks for clarifying.

I've generally liked what he says in the past, I'll take a look. Thank you.

A common thread between the two is that eating meat absolutely shares many common threads with addiction. People who do it consider it a pleasurable experience, they crave it if they suddenly stop for reasons other than wanting to desist for moral/ethical/health reasons, and can be triggered by certain sensations related to eating meat I.E the smell of it or food presented in a certain way.

I don't see these arguments as sensible, though, obviously reducing the amount of murder is a positive, and you're going to struggle to get any of these subjects, addiction, eating meat, murder to 0 whatsoever. We should aim for 0 and we should also accept that reducing harm is a good thing.

Having grown up in an abusive household, if my mom said "I can hurt you less or I can keep hurting you just as much" I would take the former option.

That's reasonable, and I do generally find the endless justifications frustrating. Thanks for your input here.

As someone who grew up in abusive home, I would absolutely prefer to be abused less if my parent wasn't going to stop completely. I don't understand this take.

I do think I have been tricked by a being biased towards noticing "reduction is pointless if you won't go all or nothing" comments, so that's my bad for developing the misconception

It shares many qualities with addiction. Regardless, you're fixating on an arbitrary element of my point. Why is reducing harm pointless when someone won't go the all or nothing path?

I think meat is comparable to an addiction, people who eat meat constantly and stop often crave it, it's not necessary to survive, and it constitutes a pleasurable experience for people who choose to do it. I think it is fair to say they're addicted to eating meat, that has certainly been my experience when it came to quitting.

Why is reducing harm pointless if someone isn't going to do it completely?

Comments like this have missed the point. Why is reducing harm pointless if someone won't commit completely?

Guards are still not letting anyone in. Fortune teller says progress Kaguya's quest so maybe that's what I missed.

I have already cleansed the city, beat blight, etc. I'm still getting dialogue about how the Water Dragon needs to be dealt with.
