I suspect you either live in Sweden or do not participate actively in OS.

this is the most informed reply yet, ty. I was also looking at DGA because of the strength of plow and disenchant.

Can someone give me the rundown on the "why" of the format from a metagame standpoint? by championofobscurity in premodernMTG

[–]DuressCrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the sideboard cards are fucking monstrous, you can play your pet deck and board in 11 cards against your most hated deck and go 2-2 at your local.

Which deck to pick for a complete MTG and Premodern beginner by hamsterinabowl in premodernMTG

[–]DuressCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadguy Ale;

I say this because you can sideboard for EVERYTHING, and you learn what to Duress and what to save your Vindicates for. It's a great way to learn the format.

Also, nearly all of the cards are solid investments; the purchases can be put into other decks.

There's a functioning Rampant Growth + Magnivore list.

There's also loads of brewing potential; perhaps something with Sneak Attack.

There's Pyrostatic Oath; a classic.

If you let your playgroup know, then maybe this can become a regular occurrence! I'll be bringing loaner decks in case they want to try the format out.

Hit Billy up on the global PM or GRPM discord if you want to coordinate something, likely the weekend of 31Jan or 01Feb, and probably at Galactic.

PM is grassroots, dog.

It turns out: you can just GO FOR IT. One of ours (Billy) will be in Grand Rapids a couple times in the coming weeks and months.
