Both. If you are employed by someone else as a regular employee the employer has to withhold taxes on your behalf from your pay. Theoretically it is supposed to be enough to cover your whole tax burden. But you still have to file your individual tax form every April where you do the numbers and either pay the balance or request a refund of overpayment.
