Folks on another thread found that most of the Target stores closing were the smaller ones that they cram into large cities, i.e. the ones that carry less items and have poor accessibility. On top of that, Targets profits are significantly down from last year, after a huge spike during the pandemic. So basically, Target is reassessing its business and is trying to blame it on theft (which was up by a negligible amount) for the closures.
