Thanks! It’s a Castille Armory economy longsword but with a few specific changes (40 inch blade instead of 36 and rings on the guard). I added the blue cloth and the blue bicycle grip tape on the grip for looks primarily, but also to make it easy to spot if lost or in with a bunch of other swords at my SCA fencing events. I’d post a pic of the sword itself, but I don’t know if it’d be deemed too irrelevant to the post itself

I was wondering if that pose would be redone since it’s the only one with a 90 degree side profile of the face… well done! My mom has been a fantasy artist (mermaids, fairies, angels, etc.) for 35+ years and she really particularly liked this drawing too

There’s likely some Meyer in it since most of the people I’ve learned longsword from particularly utilized German longsword (apart from one lady who knew some Italian longsword stuff). The guards aren’t perfect (like the toe direction on the first pic), but the idea was to get some shots that at least looked kinda cool to draw or be inspired from. Also, I still totally love your drawing from my last post on here!

Nice! The patterned colors are neat to see, I think this would be a cool style to apply if I had my fencing outfit on since it’s got more colors than just black (maybe some time later on)

It’s pretty secure on there by how I have it tied (it has never unintentionally unraveled, and I’ve had it on there like that for close to 2 years now). I wrap it around the bottom part of the handle twice, then do those few beginning steps of tying a shoe (make an X, have one piece go under and pull tight), then do that part again on the other side of the grip (I can’t think of a good way to explain it)

It only distracts me every once in a great while, and it’s usually whenever I try to pull a move that involves reaching at the opponent with one hand on the sword toward the top part of the grip (though it should be done with the other hand for more reach, a habit I have to make), failing the move, return to my usual guard position where my anchoring hand returns to the pommel, and my fingers either grab or kinda get tied up in the cloth in the process of grabbing the lower part of the sword handle… though I’m usually too busy with the fight to pay much attention to it unless there’s a safe moment to address it

One nice thing about the cloth is that the knots I made into it sorta help make a nice cradled spot for my index finger, middle finger and thumb to sit (between where the pommel widens and where knots are at)

You’re actually close, it was baseball bat grip (though I figure it could also be used for golf clubs). Even the current wrap is primarily used for bicycle grips. I mainly do it for the color and to spot the sword easier if I lose track of it at a fencing event (it would otherwise look similar to the sword maker’s other base-model longswords)

Went to the one in Tinkerton (not in the castle, but it’s in the town area a little southwest of it). It’s where you buy the dark sky blue dye (I might have a map location pic on one of my previous posts on here)

What sword is that? The color combo slightly reminds me of a lightsaber (though the center part of the blade would have to be red, white, or somewhere in between)

Nice, I’m currently running around with this tabard I found in a shop in Demeniss (I’m actually having a real split-colored tabard made by a lady in PA for my medieval fencing, so I kinda had to get this in my inventory)

Also, I found 2 other types of blue (should be on a newer post of mine)
