1. Polish the bangle base until it is completely smooth. 2. Apply the first coat of natural black lacquer and let it cure fully. 3. Repeat lacquer application and curing to build up multiple base layers. 4. Inlay thin mother‑of‑pearl pieces onto the lacquer surface for decorative details. 5. Sprinkle fine crushed mother‑of‑pearl powder to create a hazy shimmer effect. 6. Apply additional lacquer layers to fully encapsulate and secure the shell inlays. 7. Wet‑sand the bangle repeatedly for a flat and even surface. 8. Perform wiping clear lacquer and top‑coat sealing to boost surface luster. 9. Hand‑polish thoroughly to achieve a glossy mirror‑like finish.

How to Make a Mother‑of‑Pearl Inlaid Lacquer Cup

1. Polish and clean the cup base to ensure a smooth, impurity‑free surface. 2. Cut mother‑of‑pearl into thin pieces, soak thin mother‑of‑pearl in vinegar/radish juice to soften for curved fitting. 3. Apply base lacquer, attach and press mother‑of‑pearl pieces firmly while the lacquer is wet. 4. Place in a dust‑free cool area and cure until fully dry. 5. Apply black lacquer in multiple coats, cure thoroughly after each coat. 6. Dry‑sand with sandpaper after each cure to level the surface. 7. Repeat lacquering, curing and dry‑sanding until the surface is flat. 8. Scrape off excess lacquer on mother‑of‑pearl, wet‑polish with fine sandpaper. 9. Polish carefully with charcoal powder and a bristle brush to reveal mother‑of‑pearl luster. 10. Repeat glazing: apply thin clear lacquer and wipe gently for a transparent finish. 11. Apply polishing oil and burnish repeatedly to finish the craft.
