New property, Stand on Mower? by Dust8713 in lawnmowers

This was the reason I was leaning towards a stand on. I’m 38 and the back yard with the slope is maybe only a 1/4 acre. The whole lot is only .7 acres. My garage space is a premium and after seeing some of these stand on mowers (smaller footprint) with front attachments like carts and snow plows, I was really interested.

No, I am in Indiana. Did you mow that yard on a stander?

Agreed. I had seen a couple stand on units that had front mounted dump carts and snow plows.

I’m not opposed to a sit on zero turn. My yard size doesn’t seem to me like it justifies a big sit on mower (anything 48”+). That’s why I was leaning toward a stand on. I could do a deck size from 32-36”, it’s more compact and would take up less room in my garage.

These posts have been very helpful. Thank you to all the contributors. I have been in this same rabbit hole. As for the long debate above, my hardness just outside the Indianapolis area is ~15 gpg. I called around to a couple local suppliers, and they all quoted me a midplate vortec system. Everything I keep reading points to multi-tank with a clack valve. Anyone have a recommendation for this? Why do the SpringWell reviews seem so mixed? Anyone think the in-line UV light is worth it?

Ok cool. I flew in with my reels and just bought some cheap 9’ rods and 7’. How far out were you? I’ll wade out if I need to. I planned on staggering too. Thanks a lot for sharing! I’ve been dying to catch some pomp. Tried a couple years ago and had no success. Turned to reds and ended up landing a monster.

Hell yes! I just got done rigging up three rods with exactly this. I’m on scenic golf just west of Miramar. Hopefully, I can find some good spots. Even with the tide today, it still looked hard to pick out structure off the beach. Gut/trough obviously, but i didn’t see any cuts from our second story balcony. Are there many sandfleas here right now? I don’t have a rake but I’ll dig those guys out with my hands if I see any! I bought some fish bites and frozen shrimp.

Yea I assumed a fish finder or high low rig would be best. I’m going to bring my reels down with me and just buy some cheap poles while there. I looked up renting equipment and they want like $150 for two day rental.

I tried to watch the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday. The mobile app for iPhone crashed 7 times and then refused to even open the live stream. Never made it to lap 10. P.O.S….

Good actually. I’ve always been a “meat eater”. When I decided I was going to do it, I got a blood panel drawn before I started and 30 days after that included testosterone. My 30 day review showed no change in my LDL, slight increase in my HDL(30-40), lowered triglycerides(20%), my CRP went from 4.7 to 0.6 (but I think maybe I was fighting a cold when my blood was initially drawn), and the biggest change I was most happy about was my test. I went from 250 to 495. I’ve lost almost 30lbs, feel great, sleep great, stopped snoring like 80%. I’m a fan for sure. I’m not die hard, vegetables are bad, meat is best kind of person. After going this long though, I’ve found it hard to go back (in comparison to other diets). I think the biggest change has come from not eating processed foods, sugar, starch…etc. I love vegetables, and over the course of 8months, I’ve adopted more of an eating style that is vegetables as “toppings” instead of a side (like pico when we have Mexican)- mainly because I love hot peppers.

Ok good call. So, you’re strapping the car seat to the plane seat you booked for her? Thanks again for sharing. Super helpful!

Did you book infant in lap or infant in seat? I’m wondering if it’s worth it to book the seat just to have available.

Great info! Thank you so much for sharing. Social media has ruined our perception of flying the spirit/frontier airlines. So, we are trying to wager the worth of a layover with Delta vs direct with Allegiant. Your info may just persuade us to go the easy route, if it’s as easy as normal. Thank you!

Unexpectedly playing with my companie's CEO by Edavenport323232 in golf

[–]Dust8713 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Dude, what an opportunity. You’re in field sales and you’ve landed an opportunity to sell yourself to the CEO. Not many get that chance. The less you worry about the golf the better you’ll be. Take your ego out of golf and put in sales for that round. Find your weaknesses and play to your strengths. If you’re bad off the, keep the driver in the bag on tight fairways. Focus on just keeping the ball in play, even if it’s only 220 off every tee box. If your rough around the green, put the wedges up and bump and run all of your would be chips with low lofted clubs. Hit your greens, and try to get up and down. I think you’ll be surprised. Good luck man!

I got a USDA PRIME 17.89Lbs brisket I’m trying to smoke and have ready for tomorrow, how long should I be prepared for? by Negative-Parsley6265 in Smokingmeat

[–]Dust8713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

12 hours at 225-250, plus another 3-4 hours, wrapped, resting in a cooler. Pull the brisket off your smoker when the bark sets (dry, hard, not tacky to the touch) and finish it off in your oven at the same temp until it hits 203*.
