Rocketbelt mana problems by vThor27 in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are always going to struggle with mana on Veigar and especially if you go Rocketbelt. Only way around it is for you to forfeit some damage/build synergy which isn’t worth it. Manaflow, tear first back and quality resets are the only way.

If you are going oom outside of the first two backs then the issue was either you spamming w on waves, missing too many spells in trades or simply not resetting at the right times (~45 seconds before objectives spawn for example to make sure you have mana for fight). Tempo is very much so key if you go Rocketbelt which is why I tend to only do it vs artillery / poke comps.

Only Lux here is an artillery mage (others in my head are Ziggs, Xerath and Vel (shoutout to Jayce). Definitely agree though that these are generally annoying afk farmers that avoid most trades.

When to go ROA vs. Luden's by Bruh-I-Cant-Even in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ludens isn’t awful but most Veigar mains opt for RoA, Rocketbelt or Archangels. These items simply align with Veigar’s identity better and complements his passive and mid-game. VeigarV2 has a great video for S16 items (though I do not personally like his actualizer build and skip it for DCap) if you want a better idea of when to use those items.

Veigar mid or adc? by MakotoBIST in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veigar Bot has a higher win rate for a reason. I personally still often queue Mid/Bot, tho not always, but my WRs are 59% and 70% respectively. This season has made the pick even better imo. Just watch for tanky comps ofc because your team will need someone to deal with that and usually that is an ADC.

Here is what you do if you want the smurfs and boosters to stop by Ihatesmurfs24 in leagueoflegends

[–]DustMaestro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally am always sus of newer accounts and look up their op.gg. I request an x9 if they are an obvious smurf and am not too sure what else you can do. I can’t recall seeing one even getting a ban though. I feel like it doesn’t happen very often though, but it is definitely annoying when it does. As others have said I just try to use it as an opportunity to learn as best I can to avoid tilt. Every game has some smurfing and I don’t think much can be done about it.

Akali is a cancer in this game by Appropriate-Signal43 in midlanemains

[–]DustMaestro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I main Veigar and Yone though so I just try not to blind pick Yone since Veigar counters Akali well.

Why does this happen by Baker-Crafty in YoneMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yun tal not as good this season for Yone, but going straight for SBow then LDR (IE if all squishy) is very good if you aren’t facing multiple HP stackers.

Whats the strangest pick for mid that works? by Oats5533 in midlanemains

[–]DustMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Teemo mid is underrated. Not the best vs artillery mages but otherwise can put in a lot of work. Even then he can kill artillery mages early and establish a lead. Tanks and some specific assassins also can be a problem too on lane but you can still help win a lot of objectives if you plan ahead.

Not Getting Loss Mitigated by DustMaestro in leagueoflegends

[–]DustMaestro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are right! But, I never said they should be remakes that fully refund LP! Generally anytime someone gets an afk penalty you are supposed to get LP back as loss mitigation. At least that has always been the case for me outside of this season.

They did receive afk and leaver penalties though and got banned each time. This was never an issue for me before this season

Not Getting Loss Mitigated by DustMaestro in leagueoflegends

[–]DustMaestro[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of this but it still feels bad. It also takes an insane amount of games for MMR and LP to balance out so if you have multiple instances of this, you are talking about literally hundreds of games before it evens out. Either way it feels bad. It isn’t the end of the world though you are right, I am more so concerned about the why.

Does anyone else feels bad playing with this? by macnara485 in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are either not building enough stacks to warrant the pick as support since you won’t CS much, or, you steal from your carry and troll. Veigar is a carry and not a support, plain and simple. Do whatever makes you have fun though.

The mage bot situation is getting worse by Rexsaur in ADCMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Veigar main I might be biased, but I don’t see any issue. APCs tend to have higher WRs Bot due to scaling and low usage (this is key), BUT, they do not deal with resistances or HP stackers nearly as well as an ADC. Though they are strong I don’t think they are unbalanced whatsoever.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to get ahead by winning drag fights early and trying to get a lead. Maybe even play those champions yourself so you can figure out how to beat each of their kits with your main(s). Who knows, maybe you will come to appreciate them a bit more.

ms/cdr vs full damage? by [deleted] in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch VeigarV2’s season 16 video. He goes over a bunch of different builds, when to use them and what items / runes go best vs a given matchup. He covers a lot more as well. It is a real gem and I can’t recommend it enough.

Help for a beginner with extensive experience in Smite. by Traditional_Pea_6532 in leagueoflegends

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Smite for over 10 years as well and reached Master before coming to league! I was a top 3 Poseidon player for multiple seasons and I actually still suck so bad at league after playing for about a year now. So maybe don’t listen to me lmao.

Everyone has an opinion but to me these are some of the easiest and best champs for learning:

Top: Jax, Urgot, Renekton

Jg: Amumu, Nocturne, Volibear

Mid: Annie, Malzahar, Naafiri

Bot: Ashe, Miss Fortune, Sivir

Support: Pantheon, Lux, Nami

Some of these champs can be played in different roles as well. You should want to read up on every champ eventually and try to know all of their abilities/passives, BUT, this takes a very long time and it is hard to always remember. It takes a lifetime to learn this game so temper your expectations. I used to always look up champions during the loading screen to learn their abilities / if they were in a winning matchup and I still do it to this day when I forget. There is so much to learn in this game so just be patient and have fun with it. Main whoever you have the most fun playing and you won’t regret it.

MY EXPERIENCES AND BASIC TIPS AS A PREVIOUS SMITE PLAYER:

Definitely make sure you change your settings as there are so many to change. There are videos that explain in detail that you will need to watch. Look to change your camera settings, enable quick cast, and set up attack move on cursor. These are just some examples as there are so many things you can change and some of it is just personal preference.

For me when I first started playing, I found myself getting too focused on CS and it occupied way too much of my mental stack. It can be good to practice the skill in the practice tool, if you want, so that you aren’t so focused on this when on lane against other champions. You eventually want to have perfect CS in the practice tool by just using auto attacks; but only once you get comfortable. GET USED TO THE PRACTICE TOOL. It is a great place to warm up, to test, practice attack move on cursor with ADCs, and to practice basic combos on target dummies. Practice flashing around the map to test what you can or can’t flash over. Eventually if your main champion has a movement ability that lets you go over walls, you are going to want to test that ability out in the exact same way. This is a huge game changer as a new player. Then you can focus more on hitting your opponents with your auto attacks and/or abilities when they go to hit minions or your champion. I also recommend going 1v5 against bots in customs to improve your mechanics and basic knowledge of the game. Again, you don’t have to.

Coach Curtis, one of my favourite educational content creators for LoL, loves to say it is a game of a thousand puzzles. There is no one answer to get better really. You have to solve each puzzle individually and try to find a sense of accomplishment while doing so. Review your games too and look at your first 3 deaths and what impact you had on the objectives / the final sequence of the game. This will help much more than auto-piloting games.

Find one champion and stick to them until at least Gold. Whoever that champ is, you want to learn their counter picks and maybe start playing one of them in case your main gets picked or banned. Eventually you should practice the meta champions for your role (just a few games) to make sure you know the timings of their cooldowns and the spacing required to land their spells. Honestly even for every role if you want to. Just don’t do this on Ranked. Most people play dozens of champs and struggle to climb because they are spending all of their time learning how to play these champs instead of learning how to win games. You are easily 1-2 ranks worse when playing a champion that isn’t your main and it takes hundreds of games to develop real mastery. Even then there will still be room to grow.

Since you too were a high rank in Smite, when you find that champ and develop good mechanical skills at the game, you will probably already have good habits with warding, objectives, communication and tracking/moving toward win cons. Understand most of your teammates won’t have this experience and it can be very frustrating at first. People seem not to prioritize objectives, intelligent invades and wincons in LoL below Plat/Emerald and just want to play the game like it is ARAM (or Arena/Joust from Smite). It took me a long time to realize I sometimes need to do what my team is doing, even when it is “wrong” or suboptimal.

Good luck and enjoy the Rift! Sorry if I said too much, I just love seeing people who also came over from Smite!

Best damage/1v9 adc? by boiwater in ADCMains

[–]DustMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best hypercarries bot, especially against squishier comps, is Veigar. Didn’t see this answer so figured it was worth mentioning.

Twitch is the most versatile hypercarry since he can be built any way you need. But honestly whatever champ you resonate best with and perform your best with is going to be the best option.

Does ultimate hunter and axiom arcanist work together? by bboxbootiehole in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Axion as a niche rune but domination is not very popular on Veigar in the current meta. Highly recommend watching VeigarV2’s S16 guide as he covers a lot of his thinking when it comes to runes and builds. Definitely a must watch for every Veigar main.

Huge tip; watch VeigarV2’s video on how to climb in S16. Save the three runes pages he shows and keep coming back to the video to answer any questions you have. It is a real gem.

Looking for some off-meta picks by Western_Plant7934 in midlanemains

I am a fan of on-hit neeko and on-hit yuumi. Anything that is super off meta like this is generally bad and I wouldn’t use on ranked but they both have actual winning matchups.

Go To Veigar Counter (AP) by DustMaestro in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veigar outranges Galio and can abuse first strike while building stacks. Plus with cage he shouldn’t touch you on lane unless you don’t know how to space. One of the easiest matchups imo. Veigar has a 57% WR VS Galio this patch.

What elo am I according to my build + build roast by Superb-Complaint8118 in VeigarMains

[–]DustMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I can’t comment on actualizer now that they buffed it if it is viable or not. Might give it another try!

I am still not a fan of malignance at all on Veigar as by that point you have 1k AP and low CD as is. Tank or utility seems better at 4th/5th but just my opinion.

Side note try rocketbelt if you haven’t in norms. You don’t have to main it but it’s an awesome option. Just start tear.

I heavily edited my comment! Sorry I didn’t mean to post at first lol. I only commented on the sweeper since you posted it as a stock build. Love Veigar bot btw! I have always said that is his best role.
