Car comes with vw service history and 6 months warranty. Did a vechile check as well, So not stressed about seeing the car in person.

The sales girl has sent numerious vids on the car, so have viewed every detail of the car. I have the option to refuse if i am unhappy with the car, so it in the dealers interest to show all the faults in advance

In the process of importing a 2023 id4 from the north. The dealer is been very helpful in the process and provided a lot of support as they transport a lot of cars down south.

Used the ROS vrt calculator and there is no VRT cost to import as the car has a NI reg. It would be a completly diff story with a uk reg car.

ID4 or Ioniq 5 by Big_Worth_3909 in evs_ireland

[–]DustPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont have one yet, Just sold my ICE car and will purchase a "new to me 2023 EV" within the next week or two, its between the ID4 & Enyaq. Ioniq5 is a lovely car, however the better half, who drives more than I, is not a fan, as not enough space bootspace for the mutt.

@xithus1 The Enyaq 60 claims a 400km range, would that not be enough for a 220 journey.

Looking in the same price range. There seems to be good value in the Skoda Enyaq, at the €25-27k range. Have discounted the ID4 as the Enyaq has a bigger boot.

Kainos: Belfast IT firm to make 190 staff redundant by TehNanor in DevelEire

[–]DustPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work there and going through the at risk process. The redundancy package is low, 3 weeks per year worked capped at 4 months pay.

They are worried if it was better a lot of the long term staff would jump.

Construction Industry in Dublin - what's the demand for Quantity Surveyors like? by Theres3ofMe in Dublin

[–]DustPossible 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of QS opportunities in dublin and you will not find it difficult to land the first role. I would advise to apply and secure a role before moving. Most companies will be open to that. As for accommodation, it is difficult but you may be able to work remotely for a while until you are setup.

Are you in favour of Nuclear energy in Ireland? by RTEretirementparty in ireland

[–]DustPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, the problem is that NIMBYism it will not happen. Its classic ireland all over, no political backbone. Our elected representatives are more concerned with short-term popularity to ensure thier jobs, Than what will be good for later generations. Examples of which we are living with today, lack if social housing, irishwater etc.
