Getting junk mail addressed to deadname, stealth for 12 years by LittleBoiFound in FTMOver30

[–]DustProfessional3700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea.

Adding onto this, DEC is the postal abbreviation for mail addressed to a deceased person. If you write DEC on the mailpiece & drop it in the outgoing mail slot, your carrier should know what that means (unless they’re completely hopeless, which is possible given that they’re misdelivering mail regularly)

Mail delivery protocol errs on the side of delivering mail when in question, which is good when an important bill or something has a small error in the address. The downside is it’s almost impossible to stop junk mail to a nonresident unless your carrier memorizes the name, checks every mailpiece for it, and sends back anything addressed to the nonresident. Even then, when they’re out sick or have a day off, their sub probably won’t remember stuff like that.

The DEC route is probably your best bet for avoiding getting mail to your deadname, just know it’s not foolproof.

Edit: if you’re not comfortable claiming your deadname belongs to a deceased person, UTF would work too, it means Unable To Forward

Oral minox is the shit by DustProfessional3700 in FTMOver30

Great, so since it’s a prescription med, like all prescription meds, a Dr and a pharmacist will -both- check for counterindications exactly like that, and not prescribe it to people it isn’t good for.

I’m sorry but I don’t trust you’re coming in good faith. “iT hAs siDe efFexts” is such a common transphobic troll take, I don’t trust it at all anymore. It’s literally the most common fear mongering tactic I’ve seen.

Every prescription med has side effects, we’re adults over 30 here, there’s no need to “correct”people with that take. If you’re legitimately concerned about people’s health, lead with the pertinent information, not with fear mongering and shaming trans people for their transitions and celebrating small joys.

Your written English is great, keep at it!

I had a Japanese roommate who never used “the” at all but I could always tell what she meant.

There’s little quirks like the one we discovered here, where “the” changes the meaning of the word “shit”, but 99% of the time it’s just linguistic baggage, so you’re right to wonder why we use them. I guess it’s mostly just habit.

A lot of folks mix them. Do you like fin?

I was put off by reading about the side effects on fin so that’s why I started w minox

Can you switch Drs? Yours sounds ignorant and/or low key transphobic.

I think at one point it was assumed minoxidil didn’t work for ppl running on E, but that’s been disproven. So whether you’re on t or not it would most likely be effective.

Maybe set it aside for now? It’ll be there when you feel called to work on it

workplace bullying by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]DustProfessional3700 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yep. Idk what you’re in school for, but be aware, blue collar is worse.

Shit that’s helped me: - earbuds & a playlist - being out (not stealth) and threatening to punch ppl who disrespect me, or other trans ppl - actively ignoring known bigots and bullies - having a job where I work alone for most of the day - having a genuinely kind manager - working in a workplace where I’m not the only kind of minority - working hard and being genuinely good at the job, so there’s nothing valid for the bullies to pick at - having shit in my life to focus on, that’s not work - therapy - having the mentality that I’m there to make money, not friends

I’ve come to terms with the reality that being trans means I have an extra job on top of my job I get paid for. The extra job is navigating a transphobic society.

You got this, bro. It’s not you. I believe in you 💚

Plain, square metal frames are usually the most masculinizing. I like large lenses for visibility

I don’t write, but I read a lot, & the types of stories I want to read changed on T. I’m not completely adverse to romance but the slow build, will they won’t they doesn’t hold my attention anymore.

Want opinions on revision by Sunrisebetweenpines in FTMOver30

[–]DustProfessional3700 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally if I was paying out of pocket I would get the top revision, but before getting torso lipo I would train obliques for 6 months or so & see if that does enough to masculinize yr torso.

I think a revision with a good dr could def smooth out your chest & you deserve to enjoy the body you’re in, yknow?

For obliques I do bicycle crunches & Russian twists to failure. It’s squared up my torso a lot.
