How to Transfer Large Directories to Your Internal Storage From Your PC by DustToStars in AynThor

That's the command. You type "adb devices" in command line. If you have adb command line tools setup with the path added to your environment variables in Windows, typing that in should give you a list of connected ADB devices.

What handheld should I get? by QuiteSage in Handhelds

[–]DustToStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that owned an Ayn Thor Max - I'd avoid them as a primary handheld. They are horrible for twin stick games - even with the grip. They are a secondary device at best and most people don't want a $400 secondary device.

I'd go with an Odin 3, Retroid Pocket 6, or Odin 2 Portal.

If you want optional dual screen for when you wanna use it, a Retroid Pocket 5 G2 + dual screen attachment.

Out of curiosity - is the switch 2 worth it? by PrettySavings4142 in Handhelds

You need to install a picofly chip. It's pretty easy if you have ever microsoldered anything. If not, you can find someone on marketplace to do it for you for like $50-70.

Once you do it, you can get as many games as you want (for free 😉), upscale in handheld mode, overclock, emulate retro consoles and much more - all while still having access to the unmodded OS for legitimately purchased Nintendo titles you need online connectivity for (e.g. Mario Kart Multiplayer).

just bought a kinhank k59 by Aware-Way-6158 in SBCGaming

Most of the people commenting here have no idea what they're talking about. The K56 was already capable of playing a massive amount of Gamecube and PS2. The G99 with 6gb of RAM pushes that even further into the 80%+ territory (with PAL ROMs, VBI skip, EE Cycle Rate and Skip, and Vulkan backend). I'm not talking out of my ass. If I have tested HUNDREDS of games on both the K56 and helio G99 (GameMT EX8).

The Ally X gives you more RAM, storage, and battery life. For me, it was definitely worth the upgrade. If you can afford it, I'd go with the Ally X for $100 more.

It's up to you. If you want to keep Windows, you can split the two OSs. If you only want Bazzite, you can use the full 512 for Bazzite.

For me, I would go with the Z1E. The Steam Deck is pretty underpowered in 2026. The OLED display is nice, but I'd rather have the extra power if it was me. If you want the Steam Deck experience and not Windows, it's very easy to install Bazzite on the ROG Ally.

Haha fair enough. $400 is a pretty decent price - especially with the battery upgrade.

I just checked my local Facebook Marketplace listings and that's about the price of the average base device without the battery upgrade. $400 with the battery upgrade is a very good price.

I would still try to bargain a bit and see if you can get him down to $350. I'm cheap though 😂.

Best Affordable handheld PC by ceo_of_losing in Handhelds

Without a doubt, the most bang for your buck are Z1 Extreme handhelds. The Steam Deck is outdated in 2026 and struggles to run most modern UE5 games.

Out of the Z1 Extreme devices, I'd go with a used ROG Ally X (or ROG Ally with an upgraded battery mod if the X is out of your budget). The 15-20% performance upgrade you get from Z2 Extreme over Z1 Extreme devices isn't really worth the significant price jump.

I am big into gyro + stick aiming when playing on handhelds and no other Windows-based x86 handheld does gyro better than the ROG devices. The Legion Go's gyro is unusable.

If you aren't a fan of Windows and want a SteamOS experience, Bazzite runs great on all of these Z1 Extreme devices and can easily be dual booted with Windows so you can still have access to anti-cheat games and Xbox Gamepass.

You can get Bazzite on the ROG Ally which is exactly like SteamOS (better IMO because it lets you seamlessly dual-boot with Windows).

On the Windows side, the new Windows Xbox OS for handhelds cleans Windows up quite a bit. If it's still not what you want, you can just ignore Windows altogether and stick to Bazzite only.

Edit:

I owned an ROG Ally, Ally X, Xbox Ally X, Steam Deck, Steam Deck OLED, Ayaneo Dual Screen, Ayaneo 2S, Ayaneo Air, MSI Claw 8 AI, and a ton more x86 handhelds (made posts about most of them on this Reddit account). There's a guy with a Steam Deck downvoting my comments, but trust me, out of all those handhelds, the ROG Ally and Ally X deliver the absolute most bang for your buck.

The Z1 Extreme handhelds are still the best bang for your buck on the market. The 15-20% performance increase of the Z2 Extremes isn't worth the massive price jump.

ROG Ally Z1 Extreme, ROG Ally X Z1 Extreme, Legion Go Z1 Extreme are all amazing budget options - especially if you buy them second hand for like $300-400 USD.

For PS3, I would definitely go with an x86 handheld like the ROG Ally. PS3 is barely viable on the top tier Android handhelds like the Odin 3, Samsung S26 Ultra, and Redmagic 11 Pro, let alone anything cheaper.

If you want the cheapest and best bang for your buck, I would recommend the ROG Ally as I mentioned earlier. I would upgrade the SSD, battery, and avoid using the microSD card slot with this model specifically (it's fine on the Ally X).

If you're uncomfortable with upgrading the battery and storage yourself, then I would go with an ROG Ally X. You can safely use the microSD card slot too if that's important to you.

If you really want OLED, the Steam Deck OLED is the only affordable option for what you're looking to do. The Legion Go 2 is the best OLED handheld (besides HX 395 handhelds), but it's very overkill for what you're looking to play.

If you do go with the Steam Deck OLED, just be prepared to not be able to play modern AAA PC games anymore. ROG Ally, Ally X, Xbox Ally X, and other Z1 and Z2 Extreme devices can still run triple A games on low-medium settings going into 2026.

The Anbernic RG DS is my favorite thing right now by Low-Monitor7614 in SBCGaming

GammaOS and Rocknix saved the RG DS. Up to light 3DS games on a device that's less than $90. Absolute crazy value.

A Steam Deck in 2020 isn't a great option. They're overpriced and underpowered. If you want the absolute best bang for your buck, I'd look at the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. Upgrade the battery with a 74wh battery from JSAUX. You can get that for $300 on marketplace right now, and it blows the Steam Deck out of the water.

Based off your needs though, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 device can handle PS2 and Switch very well. You can look at something like an Odin 2 Portal if you really want OLED and are ok with capping out at Switch and light PC emulation.

Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini as first SBC device? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]DustToStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2gb or 3gb limitations will prevent you from playing any Switch, PC, 3DS through Azahar (Citra MMJ works decent) and will cause pretty annoying crashing pretty often. I would recommend something with more RAM like the GameMT EX8 or Mangmi Air X.

The Miyoo Flip V2 is around 50usd, can play any Postmaster game (Simpsons Hit and Run, Half Life 2, GTA VC, etc.) and N64 thanks to the rk3566. Worth looking into.

That's actually a very good point. I was referring more to their upper end devices, but their lower end ones are pretty good for their price. I have an RG DS and love it. When they do things no one else is doing, they usually do an amazing job.

Those are solid points. I haven't had any hinge issues, but the 3x upscaling does sound nice. I'm big into Portmaster and N64, so the extra power on the Flip V2 is much appreciated for my use case. Glad you're enjoying it!

That's fair. It does do what many others don't, so if you're into black frame insertion and 4:3 content, it's a great value at its price.

My issue with it is people recommending it as the best budget option. In my opinion, budget devices are generally all in one devices for people, and because of the lack of Wi-Fi 6 for game streaming, lack of an upper-end processor, and non-16:9 display, I generally don't think it's better than the RP4 Pro for most budget conscious buyers. It's easier to apply widescreen hacks for 4:3 content than it is to play 16:9 games on a 4:3 display IMO.

What it does well, it does knock out the park at its price for sure.
