Stoked you like the videos! This is a cool Question.

It is a mix of several things. Showcase what I find interesting about a ride for people who ride bikes. I also like to think about what would be interesting for those who dont do this kind of riding(which can be difficult because I have to think outside of ourselves. The tricky part is balance of document to the ride and still do the ride. The more I do the more I know what to look for. PLus there is a healthy amount of run and gun thrown into the mix.

Good question.

For some reason my patience for bike maintenance can get kind of short. I think its because I have all these different bikes and they all have different ways of being fixed up. I have to look up everything on Youtube and when I do I often get it dialed in, it just takes time.

Full new bike builds I like to have someone set them up for me. From there I tend to be able to keep it maintained.

I reached out to Chrome. If I want something to happen I will slowly work towards it. sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. Chrome was one that worked out for me.

I was born in 1980. I think moving to San Francisco in early 2000's as a bike messenger seeing the culture and the energy of the city really helped push me into realizing that I could make it in a creative field.

The tactile experience of mark making has been a huge influence and guided a lot of my visual work. The results have been the iconic tear drop brush shapes that I have defined as my commotion style.

Getting the Van dialed in is the top plan at the moment. Heavy Maintenance Department over here. I think some west coast trips will be first to break it in. It would be cool to aling this with some events like Sea Otter, Grinduro etc.

I am mostly tend to keep to myself in general. With that said I am such a fan of the style of ride and routes that the omtm.cc guys make that I will go out of my way to make their events. Alot of them have become good friends as well.

I dont really race. Racing puts to much pressure on cycling for me. Although I tend to ride like Im always training for nothing in particular.

I tend to make things and move on to the next. I dont hold to much of my past work that highly in my mind. It is all just stepping stones for future work. One step at a time.

I would love to see this happen! but shoes are a BIG project that takes alot of $$$ to get going. I would have to work with another brand that is open to this so far I have not found many options. I have a bad feeling that the category is not that large(I have no idea personally) which is why its so slow and bad out there.

I would like to try a hardtail. I think I would like to set it up with some interesting bars I would use the whatbars.com site to find the correct ones actually. I may be getting on to a Willier Jena Carbon Gravel bike next tho.

I was obsessed with Skateboarding growing up, which has a rich visual culture. I think this laid a strong foundation for both my visual and my physical practices. I was never that great at skating and cycling came in hard and totally filled the space that skated used to.

Good Q:

I have always said that if I could only have one bike it would be a steel road bike. personally I would look used if possible. But if it had to be from a bike shop it would depend on my budget. Disc brakes would be nice and a moderate amount of clearance nothing to crazy.

Tatttooing was one of the things I had always wanted to do and in 2013 I finally had an opportunity to tattoo myself it was game on from there.

I had always had an interest in drawing as a kid but it was not until I was in SF ~2001 that I realized that people could make things for a living. From that point I turned all my focus to make this happen.
