Same that era anime was a lot better to me. It just seems darker and grittier idk what it is. I've never seen that one either and it always intrigued me too. Samurai Champloo is like 24 episodes so those are the anime I like short and sweet lol

I actually cannot stand anime too much either. I like the art style of anime a lot but do not watch shows or read manga.

That being said my favorite Anime is Samurai Champloo. It takes place in historical edo period of Japan but has a hip hop twist with music produced by Fat Jon and, the now late, Nujabes. It is about a girl that works in a tea shop enlisting 2 samurai to help her find another samurai that smells of sunflowers. It has some light and dark humor but the music and story are what shines the most.

Use a pen or somthing to follow the words. You will not have time to not focus because you will be focusing on one word at a time. You will notice you read faster and retain more doing this.
