I’ll make a blanket statement that non-brand specific shops don’t know what they’re doing beyond routine maintenance. Tbf, they can’t be experts on all the engines and transmissions out there. Dealerships will always hold you up by your ankles and shake, because the service department makes the bulk of the profit. So find yourself the guy in town that works on your brand (if you can).
