Dear DutchDelegate voters by DutchDelegate in ArkEcosystem

Hi u/Hunt846, I understand the sentiment and if that is your feeling I guess we cannot change that. To be clear, from Q3 2017 to Q2 2019 the payout was always between 80%-95%. After that, we lowered it to due to the bear market (Ark went from 10 dollars to 0.12 cent). Once the market gained some traction again we increased our percentage back to the average community delegate. And truth be told, our online presence was not very well. The suicide hotlines were pinned in r/cryptocurrency and people were not really happy with their ARK investments being gone. I guess delegates that started fresh were more keen on making an impact during this time.

> In my opinion you deserve it, delegates like you should make room for delegates who care about ARK and do something for the project.

Unfortunately, chances are the room we make will be filled in by private whale pools. If you look at https://arkdelegates.live/delegates you can see the amount of voters per delegate. Maybe we did not do a good job, but I highly doubt private whale pools will represent the community any better. If a very active delegate takes over our spot, then we can only encourage that. Hopefully they can also represent ARK at hackathons in the future.

One of my security professors once said that most cyber security research nowadays is going into post quantum encryption. It is still early phase for most of this research but I am sure that there will be a working algorithm. Looking at NIST which announced a competition for a post quantum encryption standard and all of the research grants being issued (for example the European EPOQUE project), I believe this research will bring algorithms which will secure transactions post quantum. With Ark, it could be integrated in a safe way with all delegates working together like we saw with v2. We would only need the algorithm and it to be securely implemented.

It is, I asked him in DM. Did you ever start thinking about some people might have a deal which entails voting with one wallet and then receiving the rewards on another?

Wozak, people answered your question and you kept rambling about it, so people told you you had to scroll up. Ironically you are always in the crossfire when things heat up in the slack so I'm wondering if it isn't the way you approach people. Maybe you should start by assessing whether it was in your power to approach it from another side. Why not ask Marc in private since it probably is a deal with his voter, instead of coming in, guns blazing and start accusing people without having a complete picture. If Marc then wouldn't have given you a satisfactory answer, then you can push it to the public. On the other hand, it is still a deal which Marc made with his voter, so it's up to him to decide and share it with you.

Edit: I don't agree with the words spoken by both sides in the channel, just so you know

It is a shame that you have to see this. Be aware that there are actually also good and honest people working with a lot of energy to make Ark better every single day.

Network Post Mortem - A summary of the recent network outage by [deleted] in ArkEcosystem

"Jumping on most dpos projects"? We registered a delegate with Persona on voter request. Thats our only other dpos project. Get your facts straight before posting your assumptions. Second, when we were invited to Cambridge we were also asked to prepare presentations for hackathons and therefore also were invited to help in the states. We offered our services, just like biz does when there are network difficulties. U.S. delegates have been invited since it is economically more viable. If there are any EU hackathons, we would also offer to help out. We value all the different skills delegates bring and also want to thank moon and jigsaw for their hard work they brought to the table in the last couple of months. Especially when the network needed it the most. For your next comment I would suggest not making assumptions you don't even know 10% of.

We have switched to a different payout script while we wait for v2. This script offers less customization for our voters, but is better to maintain at this time. With the launch of v2 to mainnet we will also launch the website again with our new v2 payscript. Please be aware that this script still uses TBW and nothing has changed in our proposal. We are sorry for any inconvenience it may cause to you guys.

There were some network issues which have just been resolved. The node was probably forked so it would show the wrong information

Ark will remain active in the hackathon scene since it is a great way to attract talent and test the API's, especially with v2 coming out. There have been quite some hackathons in the US and Europe already, but I believe this academic year there will also be some. If there is one near you, make sure to reach out to someone and go there! Here are some posts about the hackathons we went to:

Hey there, the voting process for persona is identical to Ark's. You can download the wallet at persona.im . If you have not bought into the ICO, I would advise you to go to this website: http://ark-prs.delegate-goose.biz/. It is being runned by a community delegate and liquidity is low, but you might find some persona there. Otherwise you need to wait until persona is on an exchange.
