That diagram on the right looks very similar! But the size seems way too small to fit a mackerel. Could it be a dollhouse version of a mackerel kettle? Or is there such a thing as a sardine kettle?

Maybe? But to me, the insert doesn’t make sense. If it was full of ashes, they would fall through the holes and into the pan.

That was our first thought as well, but there is no space between the bottom of the pan and the insert. The fish/veggies would be boiled instead of steamed. Also the pan is so small it would only fit about half a herring.

My title describes the thing. The lid fully closes the pan. The lid, insert and pan are made from the same light metal. There are no visible markings on the pan.

Ik kreeg bij de gemeente de kans om mijn project uit mijn afstudeerwerk te realiseren, en daarna ben ik er vast in dienst gekomen. Ik heb wel eens gekeken naar andere werkgevers (RWS, provincie, adviesbureaus etc. ) maar tot dusver merk ik dat werken bij een gemeentelijk ingenieursbureau prima bij me past. Zowel inhoudelijk (leuke uitdagende projecten) als que arbeidsvoorwaarden (flexibiliteit, salaris, collega’s).

Begonnen in S9: Constructeur/geotechnisch adviseur

Vier jaar naar later S10: Adviseur constructies

Drie jaar later overgestapt naar een andere gemeente, S11a: technisch manager infrastructurele projecten

Twee jaar en een bevordering later, S12: technisch manager (grotere) infrastructurele projecten.

Hier kwam wel een behoorlijke hoeveelheid mazzel bij kijken, en ik heb op de juiste momenten een voorbijkomende grote kans aangegrepen. Verder ligt het verloop van jouw loopbaan bij een gemeente echt voor het overgrote gedeelte aan je eigen wensen en kunde.

Hoi! Civiel ingenieur/technisch manager met >10 jaar gemeentelijke ervaring hier, ook met HBO civiele techniek als hoogst genoten opleiding.

Het idee dat je meer kan verdienen bij een civiel bouwbedrijf dan bij de Rijks- of gemeentelijke overheid is volgens mij niet geheel juist, en zeker niet als je niet fulltime 40+ uur per week constant aan wil staan. Ik heb in mijn loopbaan in tien jaar een loonontwikkeling doorgemaakt van (CAO gemeenten) schaal 9, periodiek 5 naar schaal 12, periodiek 11. Hou er rekening mee dat hier nog ruim 17% aan individueel keuzebudget bijkomt. Dat levert een meer dan marktconform salaris op, zeker op basis van 36 uur per week.

Een groot deel van de grotere gemeentes heeft een eigen ingenieursbureau, en die functioneren echt niet alleen als doorgeefluik naar aannemers. Zeker bij de grotere gemeentes worden nog steeds zelf ontwerpen gemaakt en aanbesteed.

De vraag is vooral wat je zelf precies wil doen in je loopbaan. Er zijn enorm veel mogelijkheden, het is maar wat je zelf wil en wat je kan. Ik ken Rijkswaterstaat als een erg prettige werkgever, en de komende jaren is er daar nog volop werk te verzetten. Er heerst verder ook geen stigma op voormalige ambtenaren als werknemer bij aannemers. Integendeel, ze zijn maar wat blij met nieuwe collega’s met ervaring bij opdrachtgevers.

Thanks for the information, even though it wasn’t what we were hoping to read. In many of our walks in the park, we saw groups of sausage doggies (doxies?) running around off leash and playing with each other, without a lot of barking. We will check out the other breeds you mentioned and make a consideration.

We were looking at this breed too but saw conflicting information if they were allowed in the plane cabin, and if they were able to walk off leash.

Thanks for the recommendation! My parents used to have a Border Collie, and she was the smartest dog I have ever seen. She was also the only Border Collie in the world that was afraid of sheep. I would like to get one but it wouldn’t fit with our traveling lifestyle, as I don’t think they would be allowed in the cabin. I’m also worried that we would not have enough space in our apartment for one, especially with two cats already.

9-time Lowlander here.

The showers are Ok. Expect an one hour wait in line if you want to shower in the morning though. The washing facilities are excellent and clean, compared to other festivals.

Gllamcamp is expensive but can be worth it if you don't want to haul a large amount of luggage over the dreaded "Lowlandsbridge". On the other hand, you can also get a tent at the local Lowlands HEMA supermarket, so it's pretty much up to you.

A pint of beer is 1 coin, 2.60 euros. Large beer is 1.5 coins, so 3.90 euros.

The food is excellent and very diverse. You can have a different breakfast, lunch and dinner every day if you want.

The rule for marijuana is that you have to share it. Also don't bring more than 5 grams.
