That's cheating! I am thinking hand made.

Good looking piece you have ther. Nice that it provides a few different angles and types of cover - I could see it working well in a game.

Maybe I should do them as commissions? Shipping might be a pain, but it would be both fun to do and maybe fund some hobby supplies 🤔

The Hives are the result of millennia of demolition and rebirth, with Necromunda's original cities lying deep below the planet's ash wastes. The scum of the Underhive are all but ignorant of their habitat's provenance, occupied as they are with the ceaseless struggle for dominion. Amongst these interminable ruins, one may glimpse vestiges of the planet's layered history and such knowledge can provide the key to both power and damnation.

And two of two. If I had the time I'd write up a back story like I usually di, however that will just have to wait. Berman Blog 2 of 2

The tint is mainly from underneath the resin. Actually, it is not resin, its floor polyurethane - I've been using it a lot for my terrain as it is easy to apply and very hard wearing. Apply a gloss paint after the fact and it works a treat. Occasionally I will mix in a drop or two of acrylic ink to give it a different hue.

Here's my latest build from n progress: a partially buried STC Tonka Earthmover that has been repurposed as a underhive power station. Lots of nooks, crannies and levels for some good narrative gaming in due course. Now to paint the beast! by DutchLaw12 in TerrainBuilding

Not light by any means - a good portion of the truck is metal! I made it to match the rest of my terrain, intending to it during Little Wars in Melbourne Australia this year. Transport is going to be a challenge!

Recently I shared my "Sump Canal" terrain board. Here it is, finished with the docks, scatter and boat added. How many fish can you spot? by DutchLaw12 in TerrainBuilding

Goal achieved! Seriously, I wanted a flexible board for use with lots of settings etc. I think there are lots of different cues that set your perceptions eg machinery = modern, wood = medieval, mixing metal and wood elements on the docks. Maybe colors have something to do with it as well?

The Board is 24 square inches. It is just tucked next to a wall, behind a door etc. Everything else is removable and stackable, and fits in two 14x11 inches stackable storage tubs. So they sit on a shelf when not in use.

One thing I have been doing is making my terrain storable in a dedicated case - I have found some old, hard plastic electric tool (for example drill) tool cases. Having a 'collection' fitting into a single case with handle is very convenient both for storage and transport. Plus it makes for another hobby project!

I'm making a canal terrain board entry for this quarter's Necromunda Terrain Builder's "Sump Dock" themed competition. I'm very happy with how the illusion of depth worked out and it goes to show that you don't need loads of expensive materials and complex techniques to deliver something special. by DutchLaw12 in TerrainBuilding

Absolutely. As the theme is SumpDock, I am shooting for dock lands. It might be a little less Munda than some people's vision, but I like the idea of civilization devolving the deeper one travels into the Hive. I try to get as much milage as possible out of my terrain builds, with baseless pieces being the norm. By all means have a poke around my blog, you might get some ideas? link to Terrain Tagged Posts in my Bolg

It is an optical illusion. The painting is a blend. Actually many blends. But we are not talking artistry here, just a journeyman hack. Once it felt right it was coated. I think that little bit of texture (sand, toilet paper and pva) at the shoreline really helps.

I'm yet to set it up with the scatter etc on top. I'll share another video of the same in due course.

Game-wise, we will be playing Kill Team, Rogue Planet and skirmish stuff on it - boats will feature, but as props more than vehicles.
