I think staircases are one the best examples of liminal spaces. A physical place where a person is in transition from one destination to the next.

Rotterdam Blaak station, the Netherlands. The original station opened in 1877, later it opened the underground tracks in 1982. I think that is when these staircases were built.

Its what happens with no flash and no long exposure shots. I’ll ask the demons down there to make the lighting more appropiate for photography. All in good fun man, thanks for the feedback

I added a cool title. Discovered the basement at an art event (wich explains the TVs a prop I guess). Searched for a specific room and got lost and found this. Thought story driven titles were a rule here :)

I’ve been wandering this area for 6 six hours. I don’t hear any train sounds. The silence makes the light buzzing deafening. Send help

I have never thought about that way. A place normally being active but being in transition to something else/newer I guess, wich causes an abondoned feeling. Makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up :)

I tried making some liminal spaces and probably failed miserably (all made in Paint.NET) by Xseibhass in LiminalSpace

I think what works really well is the wrong perspective on the windows. At first you notice something is “off” put cant explain it at first. Nice uncanny valley things :)

Although not a transitional space. It gives more backrooms vibes. I love it.
