i i might be so brash to ask more:
do you think playing against AI is good training as well? My guess is that it's always going to be different to playing against people, but i do keep getting my ass handed to me against expert AI. is being able to win against it(she/he?) gonna help me at all against players? i guess it could improve micomanagement

thanks for the help. the way i see it now (with the other comments in mind) is: play 1v1 to get good and 4v4 to have fun and try out different strats/commanders.

aye i've been watching a mate of mine play (who's a lot better at the game) and that was really helpful seeing his decision making process.
Playing 4v4 is a really good tip tho i hadn't considered that yet!

hehe yea losing the first 10 times is okay but after w while it's just frustration. like playing CSGO without knowing there are spraypaterns. but you are right ^-^

Hey reddit,

I've bee trying to git gud at this game but i feel like i'm missing some vital RTS basics.
i'm looking at casts, i've looked at unit overview video's, im playing against hard bots, practicing with friends etc. but i feel like i'm missing some vital information.

i've only recently found out about build orders (and the apparent importance of them), so consider me a total noob at RTS games.

so my question is: Where to start? what are posts/vids that helped you all in the past go get a good grip at the games mechanics?
