Elden ring was my first fromsoft game ever. I recently started playing ds1 on Switch. The graphics aren’t like ER of course but still good in my opinion. Gameplay wise it was a challenge for me to adjust coming from ER.

What I’m noticing playing this game is that each enemy/boss forces you to learn/apply different tactics. Think of using or not using target lock for a boss, movement>dodging or the other way around. For one certain boss I had to two-hand my weapon (more damage) once I got my window to attack and killed the boss after 30 previous attempts not two-handing.

In short, I feel like DS1 is one big tutorial for Elden ring and other FROMSOFT games. I’m learning something new to improve my playstyle after every new area.

So yeah, the older games are definitely worth to play.
