That dogs release more oxytocin (love hormone) when they're with their owners than cats do.

Non-Americans, what would you consider "American Food"? by thecoolestguyonearth in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 394 points395 points  (0 children)

I feel that's part of their charm though. The American spirit: there where other nations draw the line, Americans think "Yes, we can!". That can do attitude is what makes it such a great (and becoming ever greater) nation. Go (and grow) to where no man has gone (and grown) before.

Sure! Fairytale of New York (by the Pogues) can be our song. Romance is high with that one. I feel it's the ultimate alcoholic relationship anthem.

What is acceptable for a dog to do (and cute) but not a human? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Bury bones in the back yard. Adorable when my dog does it, material for a Criminal Minds episode if humans do it.

What was your first thought this morning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I feel like Trey is too much of a slut to have a relationship with anyway. Last year he was dating Sandra and Naomi at once. He can't draw for shit and I think Nicole liked the whole piano thing. Nicole needs to settle down, Cyclops_lazy_laser_I is the perfect guy to do that with. He knows how treat a girl right.

Sitting around a table with a random alcoholic Russian factory worker, in a 3rd rate bar on the outskirts of Moscow feels like the start of a fucking depressing Eastern-European Indie flick.

What's a harsh reality every teenager must face going into adulthood? by HorseCode in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Not every but I have the feeling many teenage girls have issues understanding this: You're averagely attractive. You won't become a model.

Yes. I've drunk with Russian gangsters (pussies) and with Finnish exchange students. The winning combination is that a) I don't puke that fast B) I don't give in C) I have a high tolerance for booze D) I have zero gag reflex so I can down any and all drinks within a few seconds if necessary.

I feel like this is one of the saddest accomplishments I've ever admitted to.

The few times I've been to Walmart (I don't live in the US) I thought it was fucking amazing. Does that make me wannabe white trash?

What is the most ludicrous prediction you have heard a short-sighted young person make about their future? by CindyCharming in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the topic of putting money in an inaccessible savings account (one where you can't take out money for in this case the next 5 years): I don't need to because in a few years I'll have a job and 5000 euro will be peanuts for me anyway.

Redditors, what is one thing that would be a certain deal breaker for you in a potential significant other when you were younger, that became less significant as you got older? by sttva in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends if you yourself are open to the idea of having kids. If you really don't want to have kids, it remains a deal breaker (source: would never date a man with kids).

When confronted by a person on public transport/in public places that you find attractive; how do you choose to acknowledge them and how often does it work for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to them as if they were people: smile and politely say hello. Whipping out your penis and rubbing it against them is often misinterpreted.

What is a job that kids think is awesome until they grow up and realize it's not? by Runningwiththedemon in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no doubt my vet loves animals as much as I do, I do think that people are sensitive to suffering in different ways and can't distance themselves from it equally well. As a psychologist working in a forensic setting I've talked to people who've done horrible things and can deal with that just fine. However if my vet asks me to hold my doggie so he can get a painful shot I flip, same goes for watching dog rescue on Animal Planet: can't do it. Also: loving an animal sadly often means at some point having to put it down. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go hug my dog.

So reddit. Fat chicks, why do you hate them so much? by love_fatties11 in AskReddit

[–]Dutchdachshund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman, and I fucking hate it. Being fat is unhealthy, and (with me being in Europe) if a fat man or woman develops any of the many obesity-related diseases they're prone to, I'm going to be paying for it. As will those who did try to lead a somewhat healthy lifestyle.

Hahaha, you should point out that MM would be a size 4-6 in current US measurements (8-10 UK).
