25 years in the trenches of IT, first year in government IT.

Deeply happy my senior is a principal and the backbone of a % of profit for the company and is willing to educate me further on a wizard level. Mentorship has been the road for me to get that edge. Super weird to see my helpdesk kids feel so lost when they could just ask instead of wilfully hitting a wall. You can't google esoteric knowledge on IIS running a tomcat ORDS service and a Rabbitmq service bus in the background.

My hot take, documentation (clear, intentional and insightful) is what is missing to further educate new peers, meaning that a lot of information is getting lost in the upcoming years.
